We continue to analyze the theory of color for permanent makeup masters in the "ABC of a beginner master"

M - Mix for tattoo

The master must listen to the wishes of the client, but do his job competently. If the client wants thick black eyebrows, this does not mean that the master must take black pigment and make a dense color. The client comes without knowledge of color, and the master must have this very knowledge.

Advanced masters usually do not work with the color that the pigment manufacturer offers. For the best result, you will need to prepare a mix of 2, 3 or 4 different pigments, whether it is a pigment for permanent makeup or a tattoo.

If you are just starting out on the path of an artist, then it is better to approach this issue with caution. Ready-made mixes are also sold, which are prepared by experienced specialists in the field of tattooing. You can trust ready-made solutions, but first it is better to look for reviews, photos of works performed on these mixes.

Well, if there is a desire to practice making mixes on your own, then it is best to have patience and pigments. It’s worth training first on artificial skin to avoid fatal mistakes on clients. Of course, it is difficult to predict how the color will behave in real leather, but still, the training canvas will slightly open the veil of secrecy. But the main thing is to understand that the color of the pigment in the skin will definitely differ from the color in the cap. And all because the skin is not colorless, and its tone is mixed with the tone of the pigment.

Basic Rules

Let's voice a few rules from successful permanent masters:

  1. To understand what shade the original color will go to, drop the pigment on a wet napkin. The pigment will spread and the shade that will be obtained after healing will be visible along the edges of the resulting stain. The black pigment on the napkin shows a blue tint, the same happens in the skin. Many brown pigments show redness, which means that the eyebrows will turn out pink or red.
  2. We figured out the black pigments: they give blue. It is also better to put a ban on warm brown ones: no matter how good they look in the bottle and in the cap, they will give an unnatural shade in the skin.
  3. Microblading requires at least 2 shades of the same color, one darker and one lighter, to achieve natural beautiful eyebrows using the microblading technique. That is, it will be necessary to prepare as many as 2 mixes, from the same pigments.
  4. Brown mixes are created on the basis of 4 colors: green (khaki, olive) - it has a yellow base, if you drop it on a napkin, red - on a yellow-orange base, beige on a yellow base, and white. With the help of pigments of these colors, you can create a natural brown shade of any intensity. Depending on the color type of the client's appearance, you will have to select the optimal proportions.
