Permanent makeup has many advantages: it can be used to emphasize the dignity of the face and hide minor flaws, saturate the color of the lips and give the eyebrows the necessary shape. But the main advantage of the procedure is still its availability.

The amplitude of the price category of permanent makeup services today is very wide - from 800-1000 UAH. up to 3500-5000 UAH What determines the cost of the service? Why such a disparity in price? More on this in our article.

The cost of permanent makeup

The price of any service or product is calculated based on two indicators - cost and markup. Each entrepreneur sets the cost of purchasing materials and, of course, tries to recoup them and make a profit. What, in the end, is the price of, for example, permanent eyebrow makeup? The client will pay for:

  • cost of equipment and pigments. If we are talking about high-quality professional equipment, then a permanent makeup machine is a very expensive thing. The same goes for pigments. High-quality pigments produced in Europe and the USA are not cheap. And the costs for them are included in the price of PM in order to recoup the purchase of pigments. Sometimes you can encounter dishonest behavior of novice masters, who, because of the desire to save money, demonstrate expensive pigments to the client before the procedure, and use cheaper ones in their work. In this case, the client overpays for the service (because he paid for expensive pigments), and also risks getting possible problems due to poor quality pigments. But honest masters still adhere to the rule: the cheaper the equipment and pigments, the cheaper the procedure.
  • cost of consumables. Of course, all consumables that the master uses during the procedure, the client receives for free. But their cost is included in the final price of the service. This includes: a cap, shoe covers, disposable sheets, towels, napkins, needles, gloves, protection for a typewriter, cotton pads, anesthetic, etc.

This is logical, since the master cannot purchase all consumables at his own expense.

In total, the cost of one PM procedure is approximately 30% of the final cost. Almost 70% is the markup and the price of additional factors that also determine the final cost of the tattoo.

What else determines the cost of a permanent?

But equipment and consumables are not the only costs of the PM master. Specialists must constantly pay for the maintenance of the salon or PM office, which includes:

  • Payment of rent;
  • Payment of utility services;
  • Payment of wages;
  • Payment for advertising of the studio / services of the master.

Experienced masters constantly invest in their development: they study, attend various master classes, etc. The cost of a refresher course starts at $ 500 and the master also seeks to recoup these costs. The higher the experience and skill of the specialist, the more expensive the procedure will be. Here the principle works: "If you want high quality - pay for it."

The same applies to the reputation of a permanent makeup studio: the higher it is, the more expensive the services it provides.

What threatens low prices for PM?

The low cost of the service (and this can be considered the price of PM up to 1000 UAH) is a “wake-up call” for the client and a reason to think about whether to change your mind about visiting this master?

Such a price may indicate that the master or PM studio is saving on:

  • quality pigments. Procedures can be carried out using cheap pigments, the use of which may be associated with a risk not only for beauty, but also for human health: change in shade, rejection of the pigment, allergic reaction;
  • quality equipment. Cheap permanent makeup machines can create strong vibrations and vibrations, resulting in uneven contours;
  • consumables. The client may not receive a cap, shoe covers, insufficient anesthesia, etc.;

In addition, novice craftsmen or craftsmen with little experience can work in a salon with inexpensive services. This does not mean that in this case the service will be of poor quality, and the result will be ugly. But it is important to remember that some types of PM require a high professional level and knowledge of many nuances.

Clients may wonder: “If the cost of a tattoo is low enough, then what am I paying money for?”

What does the client pay for?

The answer is simple. Firstly, this is the price for the complete security of the client. The most important factor in the safety of the PM procedure is sterility. In salons, things are better with this issue, because a master working at home is not able to provide complete sterility of the premises and equipment, at least because sterilizers are very expensive. Multi-stage processing of equipment, the use of only disposable consumables guarantee complete health safety.

Secondly, this price includes the comfort of the client. Comfortable professional furniture and lighting, clean room and bathroom, tea/coffee/cold drinks and treats - all this creates a comfortable environment. This is an important factor, since clients often come to the service with little fear (for example, it will hurt, it will be ugly, etc.), and the comfortable environment and the right approach of the master help the client to relax.
