"Pitfalls" of PM and how to avoid them for a novice master
Practical advice to the master of permanent makeup
The demand for PM procedures is steadily growing, which, of course, prompts many to try their hand at this industry. More and more new masters enter the market, but not every one of them can become an example of a successful career start. What is the cause of failure?
Some of the beginners, ignoring the rule “better less, but better”, seek to earn money by turning the art of micropigmentation into stamping the same and (let's be honest) far from ideal eyebrows and lips. There is a category of novice craftsmen who, having bought a cheap apparatus and pigments of not the best production, expect to earn "immediately and a lot."
A low level of education is their mistake “at the start”, and then we meet on the streets examples of the deplorable results of the work of such “specialists”.
Attention, consultation!
If we imagine the process of the PM procedure as a mathematical equation P = A + B, then P is the procedure as a whole, A is the actual mechanical process of micropigmentation, and B is the pre-procedural consultation, which, unfortunately, is paid very little attention by many masters.
A consultation before the PM procedure is the most important moment during which the master can receive all the information he needs from the client and draw up a client agreement . The client, in turn, only at the consultation has the opportunity to ask all his questions about the course of the procedure, possible complications, express his wishes, study the work of the master in order to understand his style of work and skill level.
Only after finding out the wishes of the client, the master will be able to offer suitable options and help him with the choice. Practice shows that a well-conducted consultation enhances the client's confidence in the master, it is easier for him to accept professional advice on shape correction and accepts the proposed colors of the future PM.
The location of the client facilitates the work of the master, but the master can protect himself only by a written agreement, which will list the diseases suffered by the client, indicate chronic diseases (if any), allergies, test results for AIDS and hepatitis, etc.
In addition, in the agreement, the master is obliged to indicate the brand and numbers of the pigments used. It is advisable to attach a “before-after” photo, as well as a photo of a sketch, to the agreement in order to avoid possible troubles in the future.
TOP 3 mistakes of the permanent master
Careful execution of the sketch is the key to success in PM. After all, it is easier to correct errors (for example, asymmetry that has appeared in the pattern of eyebrows or lips) before the procedure than after it. Also, the sketch will provide an opportunity to check the accuracy of the lines, the optical symmetry of the client's face. Already at the sketch stage, you can optically add volume to the lips, correct slight natural asymmetry, enlarge the eyes and even change the facial expression.
Therefore, NOT wasting time on creating and adjusting a sketch, working on a brow arch shape template, not taking into account the individuality of each face is a significant mistake.
The right choice of pigment is the main problem of many novice masters. Experienced craftsmen know that only the right pigment will protect the client from color transformation in the future. After all, red eyebrows and blue lips are the main sign that the knowledge of the master in color is not enough. Most often this is due to the addition of black pigment to the main color, which, according to inexperienced craftsmen, will make the final tone darker, which means that the procedure can be completed faster.
The inability to determine the type of skin and individual skin tone (by the ratio of three colors in it) makes it difficult to select the appropriate pigment. In addition to the individual skin tone, it is necessary to take into account the features of light refraction on the skin, the perception of color by the human eye.
Hygiene and disinfection is an important aspect of the PM procedure. Beauty salons and PM masters must comply with the following requirements:
- after each client, carry out mandatory disinfection of all equipment, surfaces with special preparations that exclude the possibility of infection with AIDS and hepatitis;
- use only disposable gloves and other consumables (cotton pads, sticks, etc.), dispose of them immediately after the procedure;
- before the procedure, apply a disinfectant to your hands, and then put on gloves;
- use only disposable cups for pigments;
- Dispose of the needles immediately after the procedure in special containers for hazardous waste, do not throw them into household waste bins;
- all consumables must be sterile packed and opened in front of the client, immediately before the procedure;
- avoid floor carpeting when decorating an office and do not use live plants, because. The earth is a breeding ground for bacteria.
Do not save on hygiene products - this will not add credibility to you from customers. Think about the possible consequences and save your reputation, because for experienced craftsmen, the health of clients is a priority.
