Art permanent makeup: technology not for everyone?
Possibilities of permanent makeup
For a long time, permanent facial makeup was limited to arrows on the eyelids, emphasizing the eyebrows and lip contour. Today, masters are able to perform complex color transitions and convey the most subtle nuances of shades.
Art permanent makeup is a technology that many specialists are just beginning to master. At the same time, other micropigmentation specialists believe that this type of tattooing can not always be used. Let's look into the issue.
Features and subtleties of this method
For a long time, permanent facial makeup was limited to arrows on the eyelids, emphasizing the eyebrows and lip contour. Modern masters are able to perform complex color transitions and convey the most subtle nuances of shades: such a color-full make-up is called art-permanent (most often the eyelids are subjected to this procedure). Art-permanent makeup technology allows you to achieve effects that classic permanent makeup does not provide.
When applying permanent makeup on the eyelids, two main techniques are used: “half moon” and full painting of the moving eyelid.
The half-moon technique is quite versatile and is suitable for both small and large eyes. By playing on the volume and shape of the shading, you can give the eye the desired shape: lengthen it or, conversely, make it more rounded. With the help of this technique, sunken eyes are often corrected, giving them brightness and visually increasing. If you shade the outer corner of the eye upwards with a falling eyelid line, then the face will look less gloomy.
The technique of full shading of the moving eyelid is suitable for the correction of bulging eyes and overhanging heavy eyelids. This is the most advantageous option for Asian-type faces, when the mobile upper eyelid completely covers the fixed one. Attention should be paid to the possibilities of light and shadow. Here it is still necessary to use the unshakable classical principle: we darken what needs to be hidden, and we lighten what needs to be highlighted. For example, with close-set eyes, the inner part of the eyelid needs to be lightened, the outer part should be darkened, thereby visually the eyes seem to “spread apart”. On the contrary, with far-set eyes, it is better to put a shadow on the entire eyelid, including the inner corner.
Expert advice
Here are some tips for performing art-permanent eyelid makeup.
For bulging eyes, you should not use bright shades, it is better to choose muted, calm tones.
Massive dark-colored arrows will only emphasize sunken eyes and enhance the depth of planting of the eyes. It is better to use light colors that are in harmony with the color of the eyes and not to use too bright eyeliner.
With impending eyelids, it is possible to apply shadows all over the moving and fixed eyelids. The main thing is to shade the borders well and create a visual lifting effect.
On small eyes, dark colors and large arrows should be avoided. The most suitable are light, pastel shades. The lower eyelids can be emphasized in white. Shadows of a darker shade, applied along the line of the fold of the moving eyelid, visually enlarge the eyes.
If the client has farsightedness , the master needs to be especially careful, as any error will be visible through the magnifying glasses of the glasses. In the case of glasses with myopia , the eyes appear smaller, so light colors and bright shades should be used. In addition, you can emphasize the eye with an expressive arrow.
Close-set eyes allow you to use, as with regular makeup, light colors on the inside of the eyelids and dark colors closer to the outer corner of the eye. The extension should come from the center of the eye.
You should not bring the color far beyond the eye if the eyes are set wide . This will further increase the distance between them. For the inner corner, use calm, muted tones, and draw the line of the ciliary edge as close to the nose as possible.
To make round eyes appear almond-shaped, you need to blend the color from the middle of the upper and lower eyelids up so that the shadows join and form an elongated triangle.
The " falling" eye creates a sad expression. To correct it, work on the inner corner of the eye with a light pigment, and from the middle of the upper and lower eyelids, lift the arrow sharply upwards with a darker color. You can add dark kayal along the mucous membrane of the lower eyelid.
The rounded shape of the shadows suits almost everyone, but not when the distance between the crease of the eyelid and the eyebrow is too small. Then it is better to apply shadows towards the temples in the form of a wing.
Indications for applying art-permanent makeup
- Correction of poor quality work. Sometimes you have to deal with mistakes when applying permanent makeup, which are difficult to correct even with a laser. For example, very large and uneven hands (often painted over with a white corrector). In such cases, unfortunately, it is not always possible to apply shadows according to all the rules of makeup. You have to be guided by existing lines and, first of all, try to retouch them, and use other techniques to correct the shape and fit of the eyes.
- Camouflage of scars after blepharoplasty. Permanent makeup can not only hide the consequences of the operation, but also correct the shape of the eyes.
- Client lifestyle. Art-permanent makeup is often used, for example, by athletes who simply cannot afford to use decorative cosmetics during competitions. It is also very convenient for public people who often have to be in front of photo and television cameras.
