Monoshooters: a new creative makeup trend on Instagram
Original
Since half of our face outside the home is most often covered with masks, eye makeup is becoming more and more original and non-standard. The trend for mono-shooters is direct proof of this.
This makeup trend has been in the making for 12 years. Back in 2009, singer Solange Knowles performed in public with this makeup option. Arrows of silver, yellow, orange and turquoise were drawn across her face from the outer corner of one eye to the other, going straight across the bridge of her nose.
Of course, many people have tried to replicate Solange's makeup over these 12 years. However, now more than ever, makeup artists and bloggers are experimenting with eye makeup because half of our faces are often covered by masks. Without a doubt, mono shoots are perfect for 2021 makeup looks.
After makeup artist Vanessa Funes posted a video with a similar makeup solution on Instagram, many artists followed her example. Some makeup artists have turned this eye makeup into a real work of art, playing with it with different colors, patterns and decorative elements. Beautyholics are sure that mono shooters allow you to freely create and express yourself!
If you're ready to give this trend a try, you'll need to stock up on a couple of key tools. First of all: with ultra-thin brushes. These can be either makeup brushes or art brushes (many makeup artists like to paint with them). You will also need a face painting palette or thin liners of different colors, with which you can repeat the desired design.
To achieve a trendy result, start by drawing classic arrows. Then connect lines from the inner corners along the bridge of the nose. A single line or several intertwined ones, bright or pastel shades, minimalism or an explosion of ideas on your face - it’s up to you to decide what your mono-arrows will be like!
