A mirror or inverted eye makeup technique called cut crease is something new from makeup enthusiasts who decided to experiment with both the shape and color of this type of makeup.

The cut crease technique is loved by many makeup artists and amateur beautyholics for its effectiveness and the ability to open up the eyes and even hide drooping eyelids. In fact, this technique can already be considered a classic. It is the clear division of the eyelid into its moving and stationary parts that is a feature of this type of makeup, and the line dividing them does not require shading.

However, despite this, makeup artists have come up with different ways to rethink the classical form, for example, in the form of its mirror reflection. London-based makeup artist Ana Takahashi turned the cut crease technique on its head at the end of 2021 and created a reverse version that quickly became a widespread trend on social media. In contrast to standard makeup with a clean brow ridge, Ana decided to duplicate the design made on the movable upper eyelid, just under the eyebrow, but at the same time flipping it in a mirror and horizontally.

The unique approach attracted the attention of tens of thousands of people who liked Ana's post. It has inspired many other makeup artists to come up with their own interpretations of mirror cut crease. For example, Danish blogger Freya Bermann created her own version of the inverted technique, replacing the white shadow with mint green for a retro, '90s-inspired look.

Beauty blogger from the UK Chelsea Uchenna and blogger from England Shavonte Dill also appreciated the idea and created their own versions of makeup looks in accordance with the new trend. Girls boldly use such bright shades of eyeshadow as red, pink and lemon, duplicating the pattern from the moving eyelid to the brow ridge.

And although not all makeup artists love cut cream and consider the technique somewhat outdated, we are sure that in a new interpretation it is very interesting and has every chance of becoming a big trend in 2022.
