In the summer, the skin can be somewhat dehydrated and rough. As a rule, these symptoms are associated with thickening of the stratum corneum of the epidermis, disruption of the lipid barrier, and accumulation of toxins. Such skin needs moisturizing, restoration of protective forces, detoxification, normalization of the thickness of the stratum corneum of the epidermis. Surface chemical peeling procedures are best suited for solving these problems.

Surface chemical peels (controlled removal of dead cells of the stratum corneum of the epidermis) are most often performed using fruit or alpha-hydroxyl acids. In the summer, specialists prefer combined peelings with glycolic acid, which has the smallest molecular size, and some other acids (for example, lactic, mandelic).

Glycolic acid helps reduce hyperkeratosis due to the destruction of desmoid bonds between keratinocytes, the effect of natural exfoliation. This leads to a decrease in the thickness of the stratum corneum of the epidermis, an improvement in the relief of the skin, the disappearance of fine surface wrinkles and an even complexion.

Lactic acid, which also belongs to alpha-hydroxy acids, is characterized by specific properties. This acid is part of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF), helps to moisturize the skin, increase its elasticity and improve color, has a gentle effect on the epidermis.

Mandelic acid has the largest molecular size among alpha-hydroxy acids, which makes its action as superficial as possible, causing almost no irritation. This quality is especially valuable when working with sensitive, thin and dry skin.
