Fashion is a volatile concept, and it is necessary to follow it. Let's take a look at the permanent makeup trends that will be popular this year.

To understand the trends, let's take a short digression into the origins of any of them.

Makeup for a woman is a mood. When we talk about trends in fashion in general and makeup in particular, we must take into account the mood of society. For us, the masters of the beauty industry, it is important to study and analyze not only the rapidly changing market, but also the changes that are taking place in society. In my previous article, I wrote about eyebrows (see the material “Choosing the ideal shape of eyebrows”, Permanent magazine No. 1 (9) / 2018), that this line on the face is responsible for the perception of the owner’s character. It's like one of the guidelines.

The past age of beauty

Ten years ago, when thin arched eyebrows, long nails with rhinestones, chic, satin and glitter were in fashion, then a pampered glamorous look was what fashion magazines dictated for a picky consumer. This image was not easy to match. And society revolted. Tired of the rules and conventions, it changed into torn jeans, holes and anti-glamour, repainted lips and nails in dark colors. Grunge, loft style in the interior, brick and texture have gained popularity.

With complex changes in politics and the reign of military style, platform shoes with thick heels, eyebrows have also changed. They became clear, contrasting, expressive.

Why? Because the owner of such eyebrows is an Amazon, sexy and powerful, with a strong character, taking responsibility and understanding exactly what she wants. Admit it, every permanent makeup master has come across the wishes of a client “darker and brighter”?

The world has gone crazy over the eyebrows. The eyebrow profession has become in demand, because if there are no eyebrows, you are not a person! Dense eyebrow pomades, pencils, coloring gels, henna, and permanents - everything served as eyebrows. Dark, with a clear outline, sharp tail and rich color. In the permanent - pixels or dense coloring. Mega volume eyelashes - from 2D to 6D. Lips - matte and rich colors. All to intimidate and intimidate men! That was the case until recently.

The world is tired of this rigidity and pressure, even some aggression. A trend has come to the prefix "eco", softness, naturalness in everything (fabrics, wood, texture). Along with the fashion for oversized things, in which the girl looks fragile and delicate, there is a thin toe of shoes. Sneakers, with all the variety of models, are a symbol of sportiness, freedom, and health.

What about eyebrows? The main requirement is the absence of a frame, the borders of the eyebrows are blurred and shaded. The skin shines from the highlighter, as if the model had just left the gym, amazing play of colors of mother-of-pearl shadows on the eyelids and gloss on the lips. So we gradually approached 2019.

Style is current

So, makeup trends - 2019. This season, the most important trend is youth and freshness.

The skin is well-groomed and shiny. In the arsenal of makeup artists, and ordinary female consumers, oils, peeling rolls, beauty drops, serums, bases are required - and all this is the basis for applying the actual makeup base! Today you can not just be a makeup artist.

Today you can not just be a master of permanent makeup. You need to see the skin, you need to be able to understand the composition of cosmetics, interact with cosmetology, be able to diagnose the needs of the client, so that the make-up is magnificent, and the skin is fresh and not overloaded.

Makeup artists convey the importance of skin care procedures before proceeding with the actual makeup. Perfect skin preparation is the secret to perfect makeup. The skin shines, but moderately, with all the colors of the rainbow, but most importantly, with health and freshness.

The tendency towards matte skin is slowly increasing, however, a slight glow is present and turns into a peach blush. Perfect shading is a must! Remember: everything should look natural, so the blush is fresh and natural.

Individuality has been in fashion for several seasons in a row, but all the arrow options form almond-shaped eyes. Eyelashes are not inferior in their positions: the puppet look is reminiscent of the famous Twiggy model.

Eyes and eyebrows

Brows! This part of the face continues to compose odes! Yes, there is still increased attention to the eyebrows. Various brands in the beauty industry are creating more and more new eyebrow products.

Although the fashion look requires shaggy eyebrows (ruffled eyebrows emphasize the expressiveness of the look), or very light, or completely absent, well-groomed eyebrows still prevail in everyday life. They have become more natural, with blurry edges. Therefore, brow products such as tints, powder pencils, brow shadows, gels and styling to fix the fluffy shape are in trend. Special compositions of decorative cosmetics give lightness and shine to the hairs on the eyebrows. Never before in history has there been so many shades of pencils, tints and brow products.

Again, if we talk about the impact of social changes on fashion, then a woman through the eyes of society becomes more delicate, touching, feminine, baby look - that's what the bet is. Hard contouring of the face oval is gone! Now it's bad manners.

The role of correction is performed by a soft blush, but in the right place for the blush (above the zygomatic cavity). This is reflected in the popular nude makeup. Weightless textures, light reflections, shimmering effect, wet eyelid effect.

But! Glitters are still with us. White, light shadows and white accents in makeup are popular.

Oddly enough, at the same time, the hands (large, bright and very noticeable), expressive smoky of completely different colors (blue, pink, yellow, green) remain in the lead. The eyeliner of the lower eyelid is returning.

There is also a grunge aesthetic as a challenge to sleekness - along with cuts and holes in clothes and, as it were, untidy hair ("beach" curls - in the same place as disheveled strands in hairstyles). "Bad" girls have the right to exist and express their freedom.

Dark and careless smoky - as if the make-up had once been removed for two days, a sort of “girl with a story”. And, of course, dark lips. The effect of “yesterday's” makeup is that kind of untidy, but well-thought-out image (no one canceled the quality of decorative cosmetics).

Trend PM

The boundaries between evening and day makeup are blurred. You can also be with colored arrows or bright lips in the morning. Highlighter - at will and in meaning. Now there is no urgent need for it.

Lipsticks become glossy, not matte. The trend on the lips is classic wine tones and dark red. Expect a splash of everyday fashion with brown, dark lip color, and in a festive make-up look, the effect of foil and metal on the lips.

What does this mean for permanent makeup artists? Visual techniques (lip augmentation with access to a porous layer, decorative colored arrows, etc.) are very undesirable in a permanent. Basic rule: do no harm! Eyebrows - in the full sense of the word, powdery, airy. Lips - watercolor, as natural as possible.

Women are hormone dependent creatures. They love to change and change, as their mood changes. Remember the quote: “To be irreplaceable, you need to change”?

So, say this phrase to your clients when they demand bright red lips or an arrow that goes to the temple. The definition of "psyched" is suitable for makeup, but not for a permanent.

Raising your professional level, following fashion trends is the duty of a true specialist. We work with individuals and therefore must be aware of our responsibility.

Many clients, and even PM masters, confuse tattooing and ordinary decorative makeup. PM shines through from under a thin layer of skin, and does not lie on the surface. Therefore, you do not need to strive for a dense, saturated color.

Let permanent makeup become the basis for daily makeup, if you want to brighten it up. The culture of PM begins in our offices, where we are specialists. And we decide on the technique, the pigments used in our work.

Of course, my work in PM is also influenced by the skills of decorative make-up. But, having an idea of the differences between tattooing and, in fact, make-up, I take into account fashion trends, but do not abuse make-up techniques when working with skin. Soft shadings, transitions, lightness in permanent make-up - these are the trends that every PM master should learn. This is what we must teach our clients to do.
