Having discussed the principles of operation of modern lasers in a previous publication , in this part of the article we will consider the application of neodymium lasers in the beauty industry and their use in tattoo removal and permanent makeup procedures.

The principle of removing tattoos and permanent makeup is the gradual and layer-by-layer removal of pigment located in the skin at different depths. During the first procedure, the fragmentation of the pigment by laser radiation due to the photoacoustic effect occurs only in the upper layers of the skin, since the pigment will absorb the radiation and will not let it through to the deeper layers. This is followed by a break in the procedures for a certain period, during which small particles of the destroyed pigment are removed from the body, the skin layer is cleansed and access to the pigment in the skin layers located below is opened. Now you can carry out the second procedure, during which the pigment is crushed with a laser in the next layer. And so with each procedure, after removing the destroyed pigment from the upper layers, a deeper layer becomes available. The tattoo is removed consistently and is the least traumatic for the body.

laser for hyperpigmentation

The neodymium laser is excellent for removing hyperpigmentation. The principle is the same as the principle of tattoo removal.

Hyperpigmentation is an increase in the amount of melanin pigment compared to the natural concentration, which is manifested by local darkening of limited areas of the skin. Hyperpigmentation can appear at any age. Some individual spots are congenital, they must be removed only after puberty is completed. Others appear as a result of age-related changes, while others are the result of previous diseases. Post-traumatic hyperpigmentation most often appears after aggressive chemical medium and deep peels, as well as after microdermabrasion and other skin injuries and when the patient does not follow the rules of post-peel skin care. Physiological spots of hyperpigmentation during pregnancy most often appear on the face. However, in expectant mothers, they pass on their own, without special procedures, some time after childbirth. The results of the procedure for removing hyperpigmentation spots satisfy both clients and doctors.

When using a laser for tattoo removal, permanent makeup and hyperpigmentation procedures, you must remember about contraindications. These include pregnancy, lactation; increased body temperature; acute respiratory infections, infectious diseases; taking photosensitizing drugs; wounds, cuts, purulent-inflammatory processes on the skin in the area of the procedure; heart disease (CHD, arrhythmia), the presence of a pacemaker; vascular disease (thrombophlebitis, increased vascular fragility); hemophilia, bleeding disorders, taking aspirin; history of oncological diseases, including skin neoplasms in the affected area; the presence of allergies to sunlight, mastocytosis; "golden threads" in the procedure area; self-tanning, fresh tan; endocrine disorders in the decompensated stage; tendency to keloids; hypertension.

"Hollywood Purge"

Another very popular procedure among clients of beauty salons and clinics, which can be easily and quickly performed using a neodymium laser, is carbon peeling, which is called “Hollywood cleansing”. Given the all-season procedure, carbon peeling provides many salons with high income throughout the year.

This procedure combines the effect of a laser beam as a rejuvenating, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal effect and the effect of a nanogel mask with carbon. Carbon - carbon, crushed to nanoparticles. The therapeutic effect of the nanogel is based on its ability to penetrate deep into the pores of the skin and absorb impurities and excess sebum, as well as dead epidermal cells, microbial cells, toxins and free radicals.

Laser carbon peeling is perfect for impatient clients who are not ready to wait for the rehabilitation period and want to see the result immediately. After this procedure, the patient immediately sees the effect and returns to his usual way of life, as there is no rehabilitation period.

Laser carbon peeling solves problems such as:

  • increased secretion of sebum, enlarged pores;
  • the presence of comedones;
  • dull complexion, uneven skin texture;
  • demodicosis, rosacea;
  • acne, post-acne;
  • photo- and chronoaging;
  • hyperpigmentation.

Contraindications to the procedures: pregnancy, lactation, rosacea, herpes, epilepsy, phobias and mental disorders, chronic diseases of internal organs in the acute stage, oncological diseases, fever.

Advantages of neodymium lasers

Summing up the practical application of neodymium lasers in the beauty industry, I would like to once again list the advantages of modern models of short (Nano-light) and ultrashort (Pico-light) neodymium laser devices:

  • a wide range of procedures;
  • short real payback period - from 1 to 5 months;
  • convenience and ease of use due to the display and adjustment of all parameters of the device on the touch control displays;
  • long service life without replacing pump lamps - up to five years;
  • modern maniple cooling systems, which contribute to a long service life of the apparatus without technological breaks for cooling;
  • non-invasive impact and safety for clients;
  • absence of scars and scars;
  • lack of consumables;
  • the presence of an auxiliary function of the pilot beam, which greatly simplifies the work of the beautician.
