Facial peeling for eyebrow tattooing: what you need to know? What types of peeling are suitable for eyebrow tattooing? You can combine these procedures, but with caution.

What types of peeling are suitable for eyebrow tattooing? You can combine these procedures, but be careful. Both affect the top layer of the skin - the epidermis. When tattooing, a pigment is applied under it, while peeling, on the contrary, everything superfluous is removed.

The epidermis is not a monolithic structure. This is a kind of "sandwich" of layers of cells of different types. The horny and shiny layers consist of dead cells without nuclei, the granular, spiny and basal layers consist of living cells. With permanent makeup, the pigment is introduced only into the stratum corneum, and in some types of peelings, the active substances penetrate deeper, to the basal layer. For example, carbon peeling and tattooing are absolutely incompatible procedures, like other types of peelings that penetrate below the stratum corneum. Let's consider them in more detail.

Mechanical peeling. The active substance is finely abrasive granules. They polish the skin, removing excess dead skin cells along with greasy "plugs" and all surface contaminants. Depending on the size of the granules, there are scrubs (peelings with larger abrasive particles) and gommages (rolling peels).

Chemical peeling. Active substances - fruit acids (mandelic, lactic, glycolic, etc.). They "burn" the stratum corneum to a certain depth, stimulating the basal layer to produce new cells. There are three types of chemical peels according to the depth of exposure:

  • superficial - acts only within the stratum corneum;
  • middle - penetrates to the shiny layer;
  • deep - "gets" to the basal.

Laser (carbon). In this case, the "extra" layers of the epidermis are removed using a special gel under the influence of laser radiation. Heated to the desired temperature, the gel molecules burn out together with dead skin cells.

For deep cleansing of the skin in the eyebrow area, only gommages with small abrasive particles are suitable! However, this does not mean that with a tattoo you will have to forget about peeling. Enough to isolate the area of the eyebrows. In salons, special stickers are used for this. If you're doing mechanical facial cleansing at home, just don't scrub your brows or cover them with a band-aid.

Is it possible to do peeling after eyebrow tattooing?

In the first days after the procedure, any peeling is undesirable. The pigment is distributed under the skin within 1-2 weeks - this is why the tattoo looks unnaturally bright at first. In the first 3-4 days after the procedure, the so-called granulation tissue is formed in the pigment injection zone, which replaces the stratum corneum damaged by the machine. Under the granulation tissue, new cells of the stratum corneum are actively formed - keratinocytes. They envelop pigment particles, holding them in the skin. If you remove the granulation tissue ahead of time using peeling, the pigment will not have time to gain a foothold under the skin and the tattoo will turn out to be uneven. That is why cosmetologists do not even recommend wetting your eyebrows in the early days. The skin itself will tell you when you can do peeling after tattooing. Until the shade of the pigment approaches the natural, wait a little with the use of scrubs and gommages.

How long after the procedure can I do facial peeling?

Abrasive peeling should not be done until the tattoo is completely healed. This is about two weeks, but you should definitely ask the master for advice, because in some cases such a procedure should be abandoned for a month - before the pigment appears.

It is better not to do peelings with acids in the tattoo area at all. However, this applies to salon peels, in which the acid content is very high. Such compounds should be applied to the face, avoiding the places where the permanent is applied. Home care products, on the other hand, are usually much softer, the percentage of acids in them is minimal, so they are allowed to get on the area with tattooed, but only after complete healing.
