Laser technology in permanent makeup
Note to permanent makeup masters
Not every tattoo needs to be removed to bring it back to normal. In some cases, overlapping the old PM is enough. But high-quality removal of permanent makeup is a long process. This is where laser technology comes in.
Eyebrows of an unnatural color or a lip contour applied above the border, or a spoiled eyelid shape are only a small part of the defects with which clients of poorly trained micropigmentation specialists come to the removal procedure. Fortunately, the correction of such errors gradually moved from the category of unsolvable to the category of serious, but, nevertheless, solvable problems. The main thing is that the problem is solved by an experienced and qualified master.
To reiterate, in some cases a correction is sufficient to correct poor quality work. But often the pigment gets into those areas where it is no longer possible to cover it with a new paint application. Either the PM was applied in violation of the technology (the paint was injected too deeply), or the color was chosen incorrectly, or the pigment spread (most often the paint “floats” when working on the eyelids) - then you can’t do without removal .
Laser is the safest way to remove PM
Today, for the correction of permanent makeup, lasers with a wavelength of 1064 nm and a pulse frequency of 1 to 5 Hz are used. The principle of operation of the laser is selective photothermolysis: the pigment absorbs the energy of the laser beam and breaks up into smaller fragments without damaging the skin. With this effect, the energy is selectively directed to the dye pigment, which means that there is no risk of scarring in the area of the procedure.
A beam of laser light easily passes through the tissues and acts at a depth of up to 4 - 5 mm, destroying the pigment lying there, mainly of the cold spectrum. The laser beam acts on the dye particles, it heats up and “breaks” the pigment driven under the skin into tiny fragments. The thermal reaction caused by the laser destroys the capsule of collagen and elastin fibers that has formed around the crystallized pigment. The paint comes out of the capsule, and part of the pigment instantly evaporates. The remaining paint enters the intercellular space, from where it is partially excreted by phagocytes, cells that are responsible for cleansing tissues from foreign microelements. This process, which is called phagocytosis, occurs gradually, within 2-3 weeks after the application of the laser.
The laser removes the tattoo without pain and anesthesia, does not damage the skin, and does not require a long recovery. At the same time, changes are noticeable after the first session. To achieve the result, a course of laser removal of permanent makeup is required, consisting of 3 or more procedures, between which it is necessary to maintain an interval. You can repeat the procedure only after complete healing of the skin, that is, after 3-4 weeks. And after the destruction occurs, after waiting another 2-3 weeks, necessary for the restoration of tissues, you can proceed to a new application of the pigment.
The laser allows you to remove black, blue, gray, brown tattoo dyes - dark dyes are usually removed longer and more difficult, so a neodymium laser is used to remove both tattoos and any tattoos.
Removal Technology
The permanent makeup removal procedure does not require anesthesia. Together with the removal of makeup, the laser disinfects the patient's skin, eliminating possible infection. The device does not damage neighboring areas, but acts pointwise on a specific treatment area.
The handpiece of the laser device must be kept at a distance of 30-35 cm while focusing on the area to be treated, and then the master reduces the distance to 15 cm without holding the pulsating beam of light in one place.
Masters who are familiar with laser technology for removing permanent makeup know that the fastest paint is removed from the eyelids, since the depth of the pigment there is small and the amount of pigment itself is insignificant. Eyebrows are almost as easy to adjust.
The most difficult task is to correct an incorrectly made lip contour with a laser, since warm colors are removed much worse. Here, the adjustment process takes a longer time also because the pigment to be removed usually lies at a greater depth.
It is very difficult to remove pure colors: yellow and red (it is better not to use them at all); much lighter - compound paints, including both warm and cold colors (shades of brown, green, etc.). In any case, no matter how well the drawing lends itself, you should not try to reduce it at a time, otherwise you can cause deep thermal damage, after which scars may remain.
