Makeup trends 2020: a makeup artist's opinion

The main makeup trends of 2020 are lightness and simplicity. Makeup should look neat and simple, and complex shading patterns can be put aside. With regard to products, there is a trend of multifunctionality and reasonable consumption. The textures of decorative cosmetics have become thinner and more pigmented, which makes it possible to achieve high-quality results in color and coverage.

Leather

Skin with an even natural tone is in trend. A foundation with a satin finish allows you to even out your complexion without making it look flat. The peculiarity of this coating is that it gently reflects on the prominent areas of the face, unlike radiant foundations, which can add excessive shine to the T-zone.

The correction should be soft and smooth without clear boundaries. It is performed with both cream products and dry ones. There should be no contrasting transition between the cheekbone against the general background of the face.

In 2020, blush will play a major role in correcting the shape of the face. If previously makeup artists focused on contouring, now, using blush with reflective particles, you can model the cheekbone, and sparkling inclusions will add additional volume. Liquid and cream textures remain the most popular for such tasks. I recommend choosing delicious berry blush shades.

We use a highlighter with a shimmering formula without a pronounced pearlescent highlight. His task in 2020 is to highlight the protruding parts of the face without a visible decorative glow.

Eyes and eyebrows

Eyebrows with natural soft edges remain in fashion, but the texture of the hairs should be clearly defined. A clear matte eyebrow is not at all relevant.

When using eyeshadow, opt for monochrome and smooth, shaded cat-like eye makeup, as well as bright neon shades.

If you are creating smoky eyes , choose metallic black and cool chocolate shades, blend them well into the skin. Careless makeup with a wet finish on the eyelids is in fashion.

In 2020, opt for graphic arrows with an emphasis on the outer corner of the eye, extended towards the temples, filling the entire moving eyelid.

Eyelashes are well-painted, doll-like, clearly separated, but at the same time they should not look heavy and artificial.

Lips

In lip makeup in 2020, soft contours and a satin finish will rule the roost. If wearing red lipstick , choose a shade of red currant, lingonberry, chili pepper or cranberry. Leave natural tones for glosses and moisturizing balms with a toning effect. The coating should be translucent so that the texture of the lips is visible.
