In 2021, the “fox look” remains at the peak of popularity, which means it’s time to master fashionable makeup.

“Fox Eye” is a new trend inspired by the shape of the eyes of these wild animals. A special makeup technique helps to visually lengthen the eyes and make them more seductive, giving the look that same cunning squint.

The trend setters of “fox eyes” were the well-known top models Bella and Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, who are using this trend with all their might and have already managed to get thousands of girls all over the world hooked on it.

50% of the success of the “fox look” is almond-shaped eyes. If your client or model has exactly this, congratulations, you only need to put in a minimum of effort to give your look a sneaky look. If a girl’s eye shape is different, it’s not a problem, because makeup can work wonders.

International makeup artist Maybelline NY Erin Parsons, who created the most iconic makeup looks of Gigi Hadid, explained on her Instagram account how to replicate makeup with the “fox-eye” effect. She says all you need for the on-trend look is black liquid eyeliner, a white pencil, micellar water and a pair of pointed Q-tips.

Erin starts her makeup look by applying eyeliner to the inner corners using Maybelline New York's Hyper Easy Liquid Liner. She emphasizes that the ultra-fine tip of the applicator allows for delicate lines. Don't worry if you can't draw straight lines on the first try - in this case, use micellar water and cotton swabs.

Then we move to the outer corners of the eyes, drawing the arrow much lower than when creating classic cat eyes, and extending it upward to the temples. The next step is to go over the arrows again with a liner so that they look contrasting and as bright as possible. We line the lower eyelids and fill in the wings with white eyeliner to add boldness to the look.

Erin emphasizes that in this makeup we emphasize only the inner and outer corners of the eyes - this is exactly the trick that helps to visually lengthen the eyes without using tons of makeup, lift the drooping outer corners and give the look a foxy squint. For greater expressiveness, apply dark mascara only to the upper eyelashes and avoid the lower ones.

If your makeup involves the use of shadows, apply them in the following sequence: light ones in the inner corners of the eyes, stretch dark ones on the outer corners, and gently shade the medium-bright shade in the middle. Avoid matte dark shades of eyeshadow on the moving eyelid - they will visually make your eyes smaller.
