According to statistics, 40% of people suffer from one or another allergic disease, and these patients come for an appointment in the dermatocosmetologist's office. So, knowing more about this common problem in the world, you will be able to provide qualified advice to your patients.
Allergic reactions to the effect of a drug or biological agent (for example, a vaccine) can be defined as any immunological reactions to the drug itself or its metabolites, which lead to the development of side effects. Drug allergy is based on specific immunological mechanisms that determine increased sensitivity to the drug.
Allergic reactions are usually not observed at the first use of the medication, but may occur with long-term use. Cross-sensitivity to common antigenic determinants of drugs is widely known - allergy to drugs of the same or chemically similar class.
Drug allergy (DA) is mainly observed in people aged 31-40 years, women suffer from it to a greater extent than men.
