Correction of involutional changes in the skin of the face and neck through muscle massage
Let's consider one of the patented techniques aimed at improving the condition of facial skin.
Ivan Badin , Candidate of Medical Sciences, doctor-rehabilitologist of the highest category, physiotherapist of the highest category, author of 5 books on massage technologies, founder and leader of the author’s school of Massage Technologies for teaching Aesthetic massage
Anastasia Kozachenko, dermatologist, cosmetologist, assistant at the Department of Normal, Pathological and Clinical Anatomy of ONMU
During this procedure, the following are sequentially carried out: massage using kneading techniques, mesotherapy using platelet-rich blood plasma and lymphatic drainage massage (face, neck, collar area, décolleté and upper extremities with simultaneous “amphoric” breathing) in the areas of mesotherapy .
The purpose of this approach was to improve the method of correcting the skin of the face and neck using the above-mentioned actions, which, through a certain sequence of actions, will allow achieving a significant improvement in the condition of the skin, namely, reducing the depth of wrinkles, improving skin turgor, its natural tightening, rejuvenation and achieving a clearer oval face and neck lines.
As an alternative to mesotherapy, during this procedure it is possible to introduce fibroblasts, stem cells and other autologous cells, as well as donor material.
The essence of this method is that in order to normalize the psycho-emotional background, relieve stress, anxiety and increased excitability, neuro-cutaneous stroking is performed, after which a direct massage is carried out using kneading techniques (both deeper and more superficial). Thanks to stimulating kneading technologies, their features and proper implementation, the patient’s psycho-emotional state returns to normal.
During the procedure, an additional and rapid increase in microcirculation occurs, which, in turn, improves metabolic processes in the skin and muscle tissue and skin trophism by an order of magnitude, which allows not only to preserve, but also to maintain the muscle corset for a long time.
The mesotherapy stage using the patient’s platelet-rich blood plasma is carried out the next day after the kneading massage.
It is known that PRP therapy is actively used in sports medicine to treat about 40 injured muscles and demonstrates rapid results in the treatment of injuries and excellent wound healing.
Mesotherapy with platelet-rich blood plasma provides a stable and long-lasting effect and is free of side effects. Platelet-rich plasma is an accessible biological material, to the introduction of which the body does not respond with a negative reaction. What is important is that this material is maximally saturated with growth factors, the amount of which can be compared with the concentration at a young age.
This procedure allows you to reduce pain and postoperative swelling, promotes wound healing and the shortest recovery period.
The next day after mesotherapy using blood plasma, a special lymphatic drainage massage (along the lines of venous and lymphatic outflow) of the skin of the face and neck, collar area, décolleté and upper extremities is performed using superficial and deeper wave-like pressure.
This massage technique affects the vascular aspects of a person at the lymphatic and venous level. During the massage, skin hydration, cell regeneration, active removal of toxins and waste products of the body from the skin, subcutaneous fat and muscle mass, and enrichment of the skin with oxygen occur. The unique technique of lymphatic drainage massage can solve most of the problems that arise as a result of vascular disorders.
During drainage, breathing exercises called “amphoric breathing” are performed. The exercises are carried out as follows: the patient lies on his back, the doctor places his left palm on the surface of the abdomen, and the right palm on the sternum. The patient, on a count of 1-2, inhales air first through the stomach, and then through the chest. Exhales in the reverse order: 1-2 with the chest, and then with the stomach for a count of 4-5.
Over the course of three days, kneading massage, mesotherapy with blood plasma and lymphatic drainage massage with “amphoric” breathing are sequentially performed.
Let me give you an example.
Patient born in 1958 Complaints about a decrease in skin turgor, an increase in the number and depth of facial wrinkles in the oral, periorbital, temporal and frontal areas.
A treatment complex was carried out, including massages and PRP therapy in the form of mesotherapy. Treatment was carried out according to the method described above over three sessions according to the following protocol:
- Day I: kneading facial massage (first superficial neuro-cutaneous stroking, then kneading massage and superficial kneading techniques);
- Day II: mesotherapy using platelet-rich plasma of the patient’s blood;
- Day III: a special lymphatic drainage massage was performed at the places where mesotherapy was performed. During the massage, the patient and the doctor performed three breathing exercises from the “amphoric breathing” complex.
Immediately after the lymphatic drainage massage session, the patient’s well-being improved, and the pain effect disappeared. Bruises at the injection sites disappeared gradually over 7 days. Approximately on days 10-15, based on the patient’s subjective assessment, there was a decrease in the number and depth of wrinkles, a palpation sensation of increased turgor and elasticity of the skin. The patient was satisfied with the general condition of her face, neck and décolleté.
This procedure regimen was formed on the basis of clinical studies in which 15 women aged 36-68 years took part. Positive dynamics were observed in all cases after the first session. This course of treatment and prevention of wrinkles, reduction of turgor, relief, elasticity of the skin and general condition of the face can be carried out in 1-3 procedures with an interval of a month. The break between courses of procedures is 6-9 months. Everything is calculated individually, based on the existing characteristics and skin condition of each patient individually.
It is worth noting that the proposed complex can be used in the treatment of patients as an independent complex therapeutic method of treatment, or as a result of surgical intervention to rejuvenate the skin of the face and neck.
