What determines the cost of permanent makeup: pricing for the procedure
The real cost of permanent makeup
Today in Kyiv you can find absolutely any price category of the “permanent make-up” service. Why is there a price difference? What does the cost depend on? This is detailed in our article.
Every woman has heard about permanent makeup. This is a modern procedure that allows you to emphasize the advantages, hide the flaws, give the eyebrows, eyes or lips a shape, color, shade. But the main advantage of the procedure is its accessibility. Indeed, today in Kyiv you can find absolutely any price category of services. It is performed both for 500-800 UAH and for 3500-5000 UAH. Why such a disparity in price? What does it depend on? This is detailed in our article.
The real cost of permanent makeup
The price of any service or product conditionally consists of two parts: cost and margin. It's no secret that every entrepreneur wants to recoup his costs included in the purchase of materials and make a profit. As a result, each client who wants to do permanent makeup of the eyebrows or another area pays for:
- equipment cost.
A permanent makeup machine is very expensive when it comes to high-quality, professional equipment. It's the same with pigments. High-quality pigments of European, American production are not cheap. To recoup the cost of them, the price of permanent makeup includes the cost of them. After all, pigments are constantly purchased, and these costs need to be recouped. But there is one caveat - you need to be careful when performing the procedure. Often, novice masters demonstrate some pigments before the procedure, and use other, cheaper ones in their work in order to save money. As a result, the client pays for expensive consumables, and receives a service based on cheap ones. And in addition, all the ensuing problems that low-quality pigments give. But, as a rule, the cheaper the pigments and equipment, the cheaper the procedure;
- cost of consumables.
All consumables used during the procedure, the client receives free of charge. But their cost is included in the final price of the service. It includes the price of a cap, shoe covers, disposable sheets, towels, napkins, needles, gloves, protection for the typewriter and wire, cotton pads, anesthetic. The price of absolutely all consumables is included in the cost of permanent makeup and this is normal, the master cannot purchase everything at his own expense. And including the cost of consumables in the total price is standard practice all over the world.
If we talk about the dry cost of one tattoo procedure, then it is up to 30% of the final cost. The rest is the markup, as well as the price of additional factors that also affect the final cost.
What else determines the cost of a permanent?
Any entrepreneur seeks to recoup the costs that he is forced to constantly invest in the upkeep and maintenance of the salon. This includes:
- payment for renting a salon or office;
- Payment of utility services;
- payment of wages to the master, if he works at a rate;
- payment for advertising of the studio / services of the master.
The higher the experience of the master, the more expensive the service will be. Experienced craftsmen constantly invest their money in the development of activities: they attend various courses, seminars, etc. The cost of courses starts from $500, so the master also seeks to recoup his costs invested in training. No experienced master professional will work for “thank you”. Each specialist, realizing their capabilities, puts a high price on the service. Here the principle “Want quality - pay for it” works.
The reputation of the permanent makeup studio also affects the cost. The higher it is, the more expensive the services it provides.
Low prices - a reason to think
The low cost of the service (up to 1000 UAH) is a reason to think and change your mind about a visit to the master. After all, such a price may indicate that in the studio or the master saves on:
- quality of pigments. Low-quality, cheap pigments can be used. Their use can lead to a change in shade, streaks, an allergic reaction;
- equipment quality. A cheap permanent makeup machine can create strong vibrations and vibrations, due to which the client gets uneven contours;
- amount of consumables provided. The client may not receive a cap, shoe covers, insufficient anesthesia, etc.;
- master's experience. In the salon with inexpensive services, masters who are just starting their practice can work. We cannot say that in this case the service will be of poor quality, and the result will be ugly. But we note that permanent makeup of the eyelids and other areas requires professionalism. It is very important.
What is the client paying for?
So, the cost of tattooing is quite low. Why then does the client pay 3-4 times more?
- for your complete safety.
When performing a procedure, sterility is the most important safety factor. Not a single master working at home is able to provide complete sterility of the premises and equipment. At a minimum, because sterilizers are very expensive. In the salons in this regard, everything is much better. Multi-stage processing of equipment, the use of only disposable consumables guarantee complete health safety;
- for your comfort.
Comfortable professional furniture and lighting, clean room and bathroom, tea/coffee/cold drinks and treats - all this creates a comfortable environment. This is an important factor, since clients often come to the service with little fear (for example, it will hurt, it will be ugly, etc.), and the comfortable environment and the right approach of the master help the client to relax;
- for the end result. An experienced master will create real beauty on the face of his client. And beauty, as you know, costs money. Do not doubt the end result if you go to a professional.
Is permanent makeup worth it?
The price of permanent makeup is an individual matter. Someone can afford the service for 10,000 UAH, someone wants to save money and get powder eyebrows for 500 UAH. We urge everyone - both masters and clients of salons - to rationally evaluate the cost of the service. Both parties must understand that a quality service cannot cost five hundred hryvnias. In the same way as 10 thousand hryvnias - this is a clear overpayment. Don't skimp on the service. It is worth choosing a permanent makeup studio with an adequate price list for services.
