It would seem that he has learned, bought equipment and pigments, is ready to work hard - and you can count on a successful career as a PM master. In reality, everything is not so simple, and we often interfere with ourselves - with our fear that it will not work out, we will not like it, it will not pay off. Let's talk about "cockroaches"?
This article is dedicated to young masters and those who are faced with choosing a new profession.
The profession of a liner artist or permanent makeup master is very interesting and multifaceted! I would compare it with an artist: there is a canvas - a face, and there are brushes - a typewriter. Moreover, like brushes, needles have different sizes (1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9), shape (round, flat, linear), purpose (drawing lines, shading, dense shading), scope (eyebrows, eyes , lips, breast areola, scalp).
Another similarity is in paints, permanent makeup masters call them pigments . Pigments have a wide palette and application area. Like an artist, a master is obliged to create a beautiful composition, using all the same artistic principles, to work with his soul.
Therefore, I consider this profession creative, and the process itself - creativity!
However, in addition to artistic, you will need to gain medical knowledge, technical knowledge, understand the basics of makeup, ethics and psychology.
Stage 1: mental turmoil
When we are faced with the choice of a profession or have learned to be a master, have finally received a long-awaited diploma of completion of the course, the first fear comes.
The first fear is fear! We are afraid to leave the comfort zone, we are afraid of the unknown, at the same time we are afraid to do and afraid not to do, we are afraid to do harm.
Remember: everyone is afraid! Some are afraid, but continue to do it, others stop. You can't stop. It's like a driver's license: got it - you have to drive, otherwise the skill is lost. No client - work with a rubber mat. In transport or in the evening in front of the TV, practice strokes on paper with an ordinary ballpoint pen.
All fears and worries are normal for beginners. It’s bad when it turns into insecurity or even fear of work. The client should not see the doubts of the master, because she believes that she has come to a specialist, a magician who will change not only her face, but also her life in some way. At the stage of communication, information gathering, it is very important to establish a trusting relationship. Together with professional skill, this will determine the success of the procedure. At the first meeting, it is important to inspire confidence, to win over. A sincere smile, a friendly attitude, a white coat, a sterile office.
Stage 2: work on yourself
And here come the first customers! Mom, grandmother, sister, girlfriends, girlfriends of girlfriends. And then the second fear comes: “Am I in my place?”, “It would seem that I am doing everything right, but I don’t like the result!”, “Maybe I should quit everything until I did something wrong?”
This is fine! This suggests that you are moving in the right direction and are analyzing your work. Bringing the work to perfection, so that it pleases not only the client, but also the master, is a long and laborious work. And here to help - introspection and other masters with experience. Look at the works, look for those that meet your requirements. Look only at the healed results. Learn from professionals, learn from experience and knowledge. Do not stop!
Do self-analysis. Track your work. Keep a record and photo report about your first work: the age of the client, skin type, pigment, typewriter (if any), type of needle, technique, how the procedure went.
If the healed result does not suit you or your client in terms of color, then here are the questions of color. This is an interesting area in permanent makeup. With the help of color, you can increase or decrease the size, emphasize the color of the eyes, hide the unwanted color of the lips, designate the eyebrows, make a blush, change the skin tone of the face.
If you are not satisfied with the shape, then these are questions about drawing a sketch, the rules for constructing eyebrows, eyes, lips. Every master must know these rules. There are cases when the classic form does not suit the client. After all, we must take into account the appearance, psychotype of a person, as well as his social status.
Stage 3: looking for balance
The next fear is the fear of throwing. Throwing between cars, pigments, technicians. We do not like the result, we are looking for a new master, and he says that the matter is in the typewriter, and offers to buy his model. We buy, but the result is not justified. A new master is a new machine, or pigments, or technique.
There is only one answer: the matter is in the hands! Practice your technique on the mat, on paper. Study the color scheme of the pigments you have chosen, understand the technical aspects of the machine. Buy a good machine and pigments right away and hone your skills on quality materials. Match all your components, add your hand - and get the result.
We all have an original handwriting, an individual way to hold a pen (its inclination, the force of pressing the paper). Some people like a pen with a thin stem, others - with a round, ballpoint or gel, thin and elegant or thick and heavier.
In a word, you need to work out your handwriting on your typewriter with your pigments!
Another fear is payback. At first, you will have to invest significantly: high-quality training, equipment and pigments - all this is very expensive! Plus an office, consumables, disposable products. In addition, it is unlikely that it will be possible to find customers immediately and at full cost. Most likely, these will be clients at cost. And the question is: when will it pay off?
Then, when work begins to bring pleasure! When you overcome all fears, see happiness and joy in the eyes of your clients, your record will increase, you will be able to appreciate your result and mark it financially, then the investment will begin to pay off. Do not stop! Go to your dream. Think not of the material, but of the spiritual. Remember: we are artists, we paint pictures. We put our soul, strength, thoughts into our works.
Stage 4: tirelessly
Permanent makeup is not easy! A novice specialist, as he works, realizes this and often begins to panic. The first unsuccessful work sometimes leads to a loss of optimism. But you need to understand that this is a normal situation, because the skill in work is formed not only gradually, but also unevenly. Permanent makeup is a rather laborious process, painstaking and diligent. There is a direct correlation: the amount of time spent is proportional to the rising level of your work. As practice shows, it is the specialists who put diligence in the first place that achieve definitely significant results! The lack of regular work leads to the fact that the quality of work does not improve, so the specialist begins to experience self-doubt. The development of the plot is simple work and poor development as a specialist. In the worst case, this is a return to the starting point.
Conclusion: you need to believe in yourself, believe in yourself, have a desire to develop and achieve the results you set.
