Each master sooner or later faces such a question as the removal of PM. We propose to consider two methods that will help solve it in the safest and most reliable way.

As the beauty industry grows and develops, in particular the direction of permanent makeup, many masters are faced with the issue of correcting (correcting) the work of the previous master. The reason for this may be a personal vision, a change in fashion, the need for an update, or a poor-quality procedure.

Methods for solving this problematic issue can be different - from overlapping an already existing permanent makeup with the proper form to its complete or, possibly, partial lightening (removal) already with or without subsequent overlapping. In this article, we will focus on the most popular methods that will help specialists cope not only with unwanted color, but also with shape.

Depigmentation Methods

Let's consider the two most relevant methods of depigmentation (removal) today, namely, working on the skin with a laser and a remover to solve the problem of low-quality permanent makeup and tattoos, the features and capabilities of these methods separately and their combination to get faster and better results.

It is worth noting that, regardless of the choice of depigmentation technique, it is necessary to conduct a thorough consultation and explanatory work with each client about how the procedure itself and the rehabilitation processes after it go. Also, special attention should be paid to post-procedure care for successful skin restoration after each session and explain what result can be expected.

Before carrying out any type of skin manipulation, it is advisable to conclude an agreement with the client on the provision of this service, familiarize yourself with the existing contraindications and obtain all the data about the client that you may need in the future.

Laser

One of the most common methods of correction (correction) of permanent makeup today is depigmentation with a neodymium laser. The main principle of this method is the laser rupture of the capsule into which the pigment is placed during the healing process, and crushing its particles into smaller ones so that our body can get rid of them through the lymphatic system. The effectiveness and number of neodymium laser depigmentation procedures depends on factors such as depth, application density, manufacturer and color of the dye, and the intensity of laser exposure during the depigmentation procedure. The maximum effect is also achieved by bleaching the pigment particles. Before the start of the procedure itself, it is possible to use some type of application anesthesia applied to the skin according to the instructions under the film, usually for 15-20 minutes.

The advantages of this method of depigmentation include the appearance of a quick and visible result for the client immediately after each session, as well as a short process of skin rehabilitation. There are also disadvantages, such as color selectivity (the inability to remove some colors), the cost of equipment, the number of sessions (sometimes 7–10 or more), and in some cases the inability to remove the remaining depigmented pigment in the skin, plus the pain of the procedure itself.

Remover

The second noteworthy method of depigmentation is the use of removers to remove pigment from the skin. There are various lasers on the market (neodymium, ruby, etc.), as well as removers of different composition. Namely, acidic, saline and combined. The principle of action of these drugs is aimed at extracting the dye from the skin.

Let's stop, perhaps, on the combined remover and consider the principle of its operation in more detail.

The protocol of the procedure for removing pigment from the skin using a remover consists of almost the same provisions of the protocol for the permanent makeup procedure, including mandatory skin anesthesia before the procedure with some types of application anesthesia, usually applied for 15-20 minutes under the film.

By traumatization with the subsequent introduction of a remover into the upper layers of the skin and its combination with a pigment, a tertiary substance is formed, which is subsequently completely subject to rejection. As a result, a significant part of the pigment leaves the skin both during the procedure itself and together with the crust, which is formed, as after permanent makeup, due to exposure. It is important to know that the action of the remover is not aimed at discoloring the grains of the dye itself, but at reducing its concentration in the skin in a certain percentage. In this case, the effectiveness of the procedure depends on the density and depth of the color.

The advantages of this method of depigmentation include low cost, painlessness, lack of binding to the color of the pigment (any color and dye can be removed), the absence of scars and scars, the minimum number of sessions, as a rule, 1-3 to achieve maximum results. The disadvantages of this method are, in fact, similar to the disadvantages of permanent makeup itself, such as inflammation, swelling, crust formation and convergence.

Results

When evaluating each of these methods of depigmentation (removal), it is worth considering the existing contraindications, basically the same as for any procedure associated with trauma and violation of the integrity of the skin. Each of these methods of depigmentation (removal) can be used independently, as well as combined in some cases to achieve a faster and better result.

Subject to all the rules of the procedure for the removal (depigmentation) of permanent makeup or tattoo, the result will not be long in coming, and the risk of skin scarring is absent or minimized. This suggests that every master who decides to add this service to his price list and not lose a sufficiently large segment of the market must undergo appropriate training to provide qualified services in this direction.
