About popular permanent makeup techniques

Let's talk about a technique that, judging by the demand, claims to be a classic. We are talking about accent shading of the century. We will try to touch on important aspects of the technical side of the issue, because many masters do not risk dealing with it.

Butterfly and Smoky Eyes techniques have long been known to make-up artists, a little later they came to the practice of permanent make-up masters. Not many clients are ready for such a noticeable decorative micropigmentation. Among those who are ready for experiments are most often young girls with bright types. But, in terms of make-up, soft accent shading is most shown to older clients. Such a procedure, performed technically correctly, will make an age-related face brighter, while avoiding vulgarity, hide age, visually correct a drooping outer corner of the eye or an overhanging eyelid.

PM masters with extensive experience note that this technique can be called the “aerobatics” of micropigmentation, and warn novice masters against hasty decisions: with a little practice, it will not be easy to do quality work - there are too many subtleties to know. Before you start doing accent shading of the eyelids, first visit a master class or training courses with professionals, because this zone of influence is very delicate, and there are a lot of nuances of work, so amateur performance can lead to horrific consequences.

Subtleties for masters

When starting to perform tattooing using the accent shading technique, it is necessary to take into account some technical points, namely:

  • when working on a sketch of a future tattoo, it is imperative to remember that for an aged face, it is necessary to use lines tending upwards, and in no case should resort to a downward direction of lines in the drawing;
  • it is recommended to sketch with colored pencils - in this case, the client will be able to immediately imagine the future result;
  • try to stick to the golden mean between the type of client and the color of the iris, choosing a color for future shading. The shadings that shade the eye color as much as possible look ideal - they make the whole face harmonious;
  • use several pigments in your work - paint between the eyelashes and the outer corner of the eye with dark, use light for the middle of the eyelid;
  • try not to use pigments that are too liquid - if they accidentally enter the vessel, they will turn into an ugly stain. This recommendation will be especially relevant when working with clients who have a pronounced vascular network on the eyelid;
  • work superficially, control the continuity of movements - they are important for shading techniques; to achieve smooth color transitions - spray the pigment in layers;
  • do not forcefully stretch the skin. It is better to work in small areas so that there are no dirty spots in the folds (especially of the age eyelid);
  • drawing stages: first we create contour lines - an arrow, then from the ciliary edge we gradually and layer by layer draw a shadow.
