The trend for «glass skin»: 5 care tips
Care products for a radiant look
How to achieve the look of «glass skin»?
To achieve the «glass skin» look, it is necessary to maximize the reflective properties of the skin, ensuring that light is reflected from the surface instead of being absorbed or scattered by the skin elements (read the previous article on the optical properties of skin).
Here are five tips to help you achieve a radiant, smooth look.
Exfoliation
Exfoliation is key to creating an even foundation on the skin's surface that promotes even light reflection and a healthy appearance. When choosing an exfoliator, be careful: avoid products that can irritate the skin and aggressive ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids, alcohol or abrasive particles.
Hydration
For a true "glassy" effect, apply moisturizers in layers, creating the effect of filling and retaining water. Maximizing the skin's ability to retain moisture makes it look radiant and hydrated.
However, be careful: overwetting the surface can create a "waxy" appearance if the water is retained only in the upper stratum corneum. The best approach is to use ingredients that work on different levels of the skin.
