The mechanisms of aging are quite complex and diverse. Modern biology pays a lot of attention to the problem of aging, and every year new facts appear that allow us to study the mechanisms of this process in more depth.
Today, there are several alternative theories that partly contradict each other and partly complement each other (molecular genetic theories – telomeric, elevation, adaptive-regulatory; and probabilistic theories – free radical, apoptosis theory…). The hypothesis that the cause of aging is changes in the genetic apparatus of the cell is one of the most recognized in modern gerontology.
