According to European legislation, marketing claims must be supported by objective methods of analysis.
Methods of analyzing the biophysical properties of the skin are one of those branches of modern science that are currently developing most dynamically. Recently, enormous progress has been achieved both in the development of in vitro methods (working with histological materials) and in the development of the most relevant non-invasive research methods in vivo, which are worked on by interdisciplinary teams of narrow specialists not only in the field of medicine and pharmacology, but also in physics. biochemistry, bioengineering. Thus, evidence-based cosmetology has already become an integral part of modern cosmetology.
In Ukraine, things are developing in a different way - only the safety of cosmetic products is subject to mandatory control. As for efficiency, it is currently assessed by non-standardized, mostly subjective methods, which are far from always confirmed by objective improvements.
