Changing the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of hair is an extremely painful topic. Sometimes hair thinning or loss reaches the scale of a "catastrophe", reduces self-esteem, causes social maladjustment, and is often a trigger factor in the development of depressive states.

Let's consider the two most common types of diffuse alopecia, the incidence of which in the female population reaches 40% by the perimenopause period: diffuse telogen effluvium and adrenogenetic alopecia. These diseases can occur in isolation or, as is quite common, combine into a duet, where mutual deterioration occurs.

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a chronic polygenic disease characterized by progressive miniaturization of hair follicles (HF), a decrease in the duration of the anagen phase with preserved telogen, which objectively manifests itself in a decrease in the amount of hair and its pronounced thinning.

Based on the available data on the pathogenesis of AGA, therapeutic agents and methods have been developed aimed at inhibiting the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, reducing receptor sensitivity to androgens, and stimulating hair growth by accelerating the transition of the hair follicle into anagen, prolonging the duration of telogen activity, and activating the so-called "dormant" follicles.
