Alopecia: introduction

There are different types of alopecia, including androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, cicatricial alopecia, and telogen effluvium, each with its own set of potential causes and treatment options.

The psychological effects of alopecia areata can be significant, as hair is often associated with personality and appearance.

Although there are different treatments for alopecia areata, it is important to take a holistic approach to treatment, taking into account the potential underlying causes and the individual needs of the individual.

Types of alopecia and potential underlying causes

There are several types of alopecia, each with its own set of potential underlying causes.

Androgenetic alopecia, also known as male or female pattern baldness, is the most common type of hair loss that is caused by a combination of genetics and hormones. It is usually manifested by a gradual thinning of the hair on the top of the head in men, while women most often begin to notice the expansion of the parting with this form of alopecia.

Alopecia areata, or alopecia areata, is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss in small, round patches on the scalp and body. It is believed to be caused by a combination of genetic factors and autoimmune processes in the body.

Telogen Alopecia is a type of temporary hair loss that occurs when hair follicles enter the resting phase prematurely. It can be caused by physical or emotional stress, certain medications, and hormonal changes.
