Aging of the skin: clinical, histological and functional signs
A comprehensive approach to age changes
The skin of the face is not protected from the effects of the environment, its condition is affected by stressful situations, bad habits, irrational nutrition and many other factors. Aging is inevitable, but it can be postponed in time thanks to innovative cosmetology developments.
Aging is a programmed process of quantitative and qualitative changes that naturally occur in the genetic apparatus controlled by genes. According to some researchers, aging begins with the fertilization of the cell, its first division; according to others, by the cessation of growth; according to the third, aging occurs in all age periods.
Aging as such is an irreversible and inevitable process. Only according to the general chronology it can be natural (biological) and premature. In the first case, there is a gradual withering of the skin as a result of the natural fading of the processes of proliferation, differentiation and death of cellular and structural elements. Premature aging has to be faced more often, because a person is in an open environment, under the influence of numerous exo- and endogenous factors.
Morphological signs of aging
The primary cause of aging is the disruption and slowing down of metabolic processes, the disorganization of physiological processes in the cell, the accumulation of defects in DNA molecules, which are constantly increasing. Morphological signs of aging are a consequence of the primary cause.
