About the main mistakes of novice masters

I think that at the training stage, all masters make some mistakes, the main thing is that they are not fatal! The biggest mistake I made at the beginning of my career, in my opinion, was the desire to agree with my clients in everything and turn their desires into reality. Alas, not everyone understands the features and proportions of their face. Sometimes explanations and persuasion are not enough. Well, the client wants Penelope Cruz's eyebrows or Angelina Jolie's lips. And the fact that these lips will be in dissonance with the rest of the features of her face, few people care. At the beginning of my career, I often realized such wishes of my clients, although I myself remained extremely dissatisfied with the result. And I am a creative person, and from such a compromise with my own conscience, I burned out and could not create. Natalie Masnaya now will never do something that is contrary to the rules, facial proportions, aesthetics and, in the end, common sense. Work should be fun, just earning money is not my case!

How to organize your day as a permanent makeup master?

Everyone who knows me well knows that my working day starts early and ends late. And so 7 days a week. How right - it's definitely not for me! But I know for sure that it is important to be able to stop in time and give yourself a rest, so that your favorite work does not become a routine and does not turn from creative into a mechanical implementation of certain algorithms. I can work in a rigid rhythm and at the same time remain emotionally and energetically whole. But sometimes I stop to replenish my strength. I can spend the day with my son or go to my parents' country house. If it’s really bad and a reboot is needed, I buy a ticket to a new country for myself, postponing all the important things. Nothing unloads and inspires at the same time as holy places, the air that breathes history, and new acquaintances. This is my personal life hack for workaholics like me!

I must say right away that I am not a fan of such ideal schemes - 5 steps, 10 tips, 3 steps on the way to success ... Yes, it may sound beautiful and popular, but it doesn’t really work. Everyone has their own path and their own steps to success. And, believe me, there will be more than 5 of them. The main thing is faith in yourself, a team of like-minded people nearby and titanic work. My path was only mine, and, perhaps, would have been completely impassable for another ambitious and creative person. Therefore, I advise everyone to find their own way to their dream or to building a successful career and business. Fortunately, now there are a lot of opportunities, the main thing is not to be afraid and leave your comfort zone!

What books and tutorials for masters do you recommend?

I don’t even know how to say it, but permanent makeup is still a rather unexplored and unexplored area. I read the first information about permanent makeup in American magazines such as Biotech My Style. I had to translate diligently to get such important information for me. Probably, in order for us to have competent specialized manuals, I will have to write them myself. I'm used to being a pioneer and a pioneer! So, perhaps, in the near future, it is books under my authorship that will slightly open this profession to novice masters. In the meantime, I am actively engaged in educational activities and conduct visiting master classes, as well as courses for beginners and advanced training. It's better than any book!

What a compromising question! Well, to be honest, there are many more such masters, and every year the number of talented and competent specialists in the field of permanent makeup is increasing! So I'm afraid to miss someone. But my favorites know my attitude towards them! I am not stingy with compliments and praise, and I always try to appreciate my colleagues, sincerely admiring their skill.

But still I want to advise the pro masters not to rest on their laurels, otherwise you can end up on the bench. The industry is actively developing, new techniques, modern equipment, technologies are emerging, and trends are changing. In order to stay on the crest of its popularity and success, it is necessary to improve and develop every day. If one day you want to stop and for a second it seems that you are ahead of everyone and have already achieved everything, this is a sure sign that you are behind! After all, the more we learn, the more we understand how much we still do not know. So go ahead and upgrade yourself and your abilities!

What advice would you give to a beginner artist?

I can only give you one piece of advice! We all started at some point, and even the biggest victories started small. And our very first and main victory is over ourselves! Therefore, I advise you not to chase the success of other people, but to create your own story here and now, every day, overcoming yourself and becoming better step by step!
