Mascara and contact lenses: what is important to consider?
Important point
How to paint eyelashes with mascara correctly, which one to choose and what to pay attention to if the client wears contact lenses, we will tell you in the material.
How to paint eyelashes with mascara?
Today there are many types of mascara , and for every woman you can choose an option that suits her. Lengthening mascara, due to its formula and a special brush, seems to extend eyelashes, giving them length. The voluminous one envelops every eyelash, creating the illusion of very thick fluffy eyelashes; the waterproof one is ideal for those who lead an active lifestyle.
Below you will find a few secrets that will help you achieve perfect eye makeup:
- If you don't have voluminous mascara on hand, you can simply powder your client's or model's eyelashes before coloring. They will look thicker and longer.
- It always looks beautiful if you curl your eyelashes with a curling iron before applying mascara.
- If your eyes are round, it is better not to paint the lower eyelashes in everyday makeup.
- In summer, colored mascara is especially popular. For example, blue mascara suits brunettes, burgundy or purple mascara suits redheads.
- Blondes should, if possible, avoid black mascara and use it exclusively for evening makeup.
- Girls whose eyelashes are naturally black can enhance their beauty with eyelash gel. It will not be noticeable, will not spoil the natural color, but will give the eyelashes shape and slightly lengthen them.
- For special occasions, of course, it is best to opt for false eyelashes - this is the most spectacular option.
Types of mascara
Mascaras are divided into lengthening, volumizing, curling and waterproof. They differ not only in composition, but also in the shape of the brush.
Lengthening mascara contains special fibers (most often silk or nylon) that make eyelashes longer. Often this mascara is sold in double tubes - the white creamy mass contains lengthening fibers, and the colored side tints the eyelashes. The main thing when using this type of mascara is not to overdo it when applying it, otherwise the eyelashes will become so long that they will prevent the client from opening her eyes. Apply this mascara in no more than two layers.
This volumizing mascara highlights the expressiveness of the eyes, making eyelashes fluffy. This effect is achieved thanks to wax, which envelops the eyelashes from all sides. This mascara should have a brush with even bristles.
When using curling mascara, the desired effect is achieved by “curling” movements of a special brush with short bristles or bristles of different lengths, which evenly distribute the paint over the eyelashes. Curling mascara contains resin and keratin that tighten the lashes as they dry, giving them a curled look.
Waterproof mascara is good for wet weather because the resins in it prevent it from getting wet. This type of mascara is more aggressive for your eyelashes and is more likely to cause an allergic reaction, so it is recommended to use it only in the most extreme cases. If you still decide to use waterproof mascara, pay attention to the inscription on the packaging. The moisture-proof mark indicates that the mascara will withstand any moisture, but it will also have to be washed off with a special solvent; a regular makeup remover will not work. If the box says waterproof, although this means that your mascara is resistant to water, it is not recommended to wear it in high humidity conditions.
Mascara and contact lenses
If your client wears contact lenses, this is not a reason to give up elegantly emphasized eyelashes. You just want mascara that won't flake.
First of all, don't use mascara that is too thin. Secondly, it is best to take water-based mascara (usually in such cases the tubes are marked Aqua or VA). Moreover, some manufacturers specifically write on their products that the mascara is approved by ophthalmologists and recommended when wearing lenses. Avoid waterproof mascara as it quickly stains your lenses. If you want to lengthen your eyelashes, take a mascara with nylon fibers that will not fall off and will give good volume.
It is necessary to apply mascara from the middle of the eyelid, on both sides, and not just from below, as most women do. Otherwise, the eyelashes will simply stick together or be unevenly colored. Apply one coat of mascara and let it dry a little, then use a zigzag motion to coat your lashes again and separate them with a lash comb.
