How to replicate the stars' makeup from the 2019 Oscars
The envy of everyone
Together with makeup artists, we decided to figure out how to replicate fashionable makeup options from the 2019 Oscars.
Every year we look forward to the Academy Awards ceremony. Firstly, to find out how many statuettes our favorite films will collect, and secondly, to carefully examine the chic outfits of the stars and carefully thought out beauty images.
This time, celebrity makeup artists decided not to compete for the title of the most unusual, bright or spectacular makeup, but gave preference to naturalness and naturalness, emphasizing the advantages of their clients’ appearance. Delicate blush, light, barely noticeable glow of the skin, neat eyeliner, copper tones of shadows, natural eyebrows and tinted eyelashes, beige and creamy pink shades on the lips - these are the trends that ruled the roost in celebrity makeup on the red carpet.
Let's take a closer look at the images of such star beauties as Lady Gaga, Charlize Theron and Emma Stone, and tell you in detail how to create makeup no worse than famous makeup artists.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga can safely be called one of the main stars of the evening for several reasons: a magical performance in a duet with Bradley Cooper, received an Oscar for best song of the year, the famous Tiffany & Co diamond necklace around her neck, which was previously worn only by Audrey Hepburn, and, of course, a discreet and up-to-date beauty image. Makeup artist Sarah Tanno and stylist Frederic Aspiras were responsible for its creation. Makeup artist Alena Zubchenko will tell us how to replicate the star's makeup.

- Choose a light foundation, preferably moisturizing with a glossy finish. Lady Gaga's face glows, and her freckles show through her tone. If nature did not provide them for you, after applying the tone, paint on small freckles with a brown pencil or eye shadow. The main thing is not to overdo it. After this, lightly powder your face.
- Let's start with the correction. Using a fluffy brush, apply the product along the hairline, on the cheekbones and slightly touch the chin, as if the rays of the sun had left their mark. The next step is a rich pink blush on the apples of the cheeks. It gives the face freshness and youth.
- Eyebrows are one of the important accents in Lady Gaga's image - they are thickly lined with a fairly dark shade and do not overlap with the color of her hair, but this is quite consistent with Lady Gaga's style. So don't be afraid to darken your eyebrows, but avoid being too graphic. For drawing, I recommend using shadows or a powder pencil.
- Eye makeup is extremely simple. First, highlight the crease of the eyelid with a natural shade of brown or gray-burgundy. If this color is not at hand, you can use a cheekbone corrector. The matter was left to the shooters. First, we draw a thin black arrow along the eyelash growth line, not forgetting to do a good job of working out the space between the eyelashes with a black pencil. Above the black line we draw a thicker arrow extended towards the temples in a metallic shade. Apply generous amounts of mascara to the upper eyelashes and only add color to the lower ones.
- For lip makeup we use transparent gloss. To give them extra volume, use a light pencil to draw a tick above your upper lip and blend it well, then secure it with highlighter. Using a cheekbone corrector, we place a shadow under the lower lip along the contour line - this will make it more rounded.
- In order to be completely different from the star, we complete the look with a spot under the eye. It can be drawn using a pencil or eyeliner and a thin brush.
Emma Stone
Emma Stone surprised her fans with an original dress in copper-bronze shades from Louis Vuitton, which makeup artist Rachel Goodwin complemented with color-matched eye makeup. A neat low bun helped complete the actress's elegant look. How to create makeup like Emma Stone, says Evgenia Elisova , professional makeup artist & stylist.

A monochrome combination of shadows and radiant skin with a light peach blush - Emma Stone's image is harmonious and light. Obviously, the actress's makeup artist was inspired by the unusual dress, which emphasized Emma's fair skin. It is very easy to repeat this makeup.
- We moisturize the skin of the face and apply a thin layer of foundation marked “hydrating”. Use concealer to remove redness and dark circles under the eyes, if any.
- We use cream blush, adding a drop of base with reflective particles. Apply this mix to the cheeks, blending along the cheekbones. This combination provides a soft highlight on the skin without the use of a highlighter, and the blush gives the face a sculpted look. Another option that will help you achieve the desired effect: use a base with reflective particles on the cheekbone area, and apply a baked blush on top.
- Eye makeup is done in a monochrome combination of copper and bronze shadows. To create the basic shape, use a waterproof pencil or tint in a copper shade. Then apply dry beige-golden shadows to the moving eyelid. In this case, the moving eyelid acquires the desired volume, and dry shadows applied on top create a soft highlight. We paint the eyelashes well with black mascara.
- We style the eyebrows in accordance with their natural shape and secure them with soap brow product or transparent gel. We fill the voids with shadows a tone lighter than the eyebrows, then add strokes to fill in the missing hairs - this is how the shape looks natural.
- Apply a tinted lip balm in a natural color to your lips.
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron appeared on the red carpet in a completely new look. The actress changed her usual blonde to a warm chocolate shade, and also became the owner of a fashionable bob. Makeup artist Kate Lee decided to complement the star's new image and pale blue dress with bright lipstick in a carrot shade. Makeup artist of the Color Me brand Daria Shelest will tell us how to repeat Charlize Theron's makeup from the Oscars 2019 ceremony.

Many of the beauty looks at Oscar 2019 took me back to the 2000s. It felt like the makeup artists quit and told the celebrities to get ready for the ceremony on their own. And only Charlize Theron delights the eye every year, pleasantly surprises and sets an example for everyone else. A radical change in image made her even more sophisticated. We say a definite yes to a new hair color! And, in my opinion, the makeup could not have been invented better for this stunning blue dress. Let's try to repeat this makeup.
- An even, beautiful tone is the key to the success of any makeup. This spring, try mixing a little pearl base or liquid highlighter into your foundation - your face will acquire a beautiful pearl shimmer without an obsessive shine.
- Also try to overcome yourself and reduce the intensity of face sculpting, and give preference to a gentle blush. But remember, the temperature of the blush should be the same as the temperature of the lipstick. In this case, it is a peach shade that perfectly harmonizes with the color of the lips.
- The eyebrows, in my opinion, are a little narrow, but this is more a matter of habit. After all, the trend for wide eyebrows is gradually subsiding, and soon we will again see the shapes of the 2000s.
- The eye is as soft and natural as possible. Pay attention to the light pink shades, but in no case to the Barbie color. Beautiful pastel pink shadows perfectly blend brown shades, provide a soft color transition and a languid look.
- Well, the main detail of this makeup is carrot lipstick. I want to place special emphasis on it. Firstly, carrot color is an absolute hit this season. But be careful, because only those with a snow-white smile can afford it. Secondly, pay attention to the creamy texture of the lipstick - this season the choice of cream products will be huge. Well, in general, this lipstick looks perfect with a blue dress. Charlize looks young, very fresh and feminine - that night she outshone many on the red carpet.
