The first makeup that caught my eye, or rather its complete absence, was the makeup look of Chloe Zhao. Most likely, the makeup artist wanted to do natural makeup, but it turned out “I washed my face and went,” although the Asian type of appearance is a great opportunity to demonstrate your skills in working with skin and eyebrows.

Main mistakes:

• unevenly shaped eyebrow color;
• the color of blush and lips with a lilac tint looks gloomy against the yellowish skin tone and gives the face a tired look;
• blush is applied in the central part of the face, which draws attention to the nasolabial folds and wide nose;
• facial skin looks dirty due to the wrong tone and bronzer.

How to fix?

We unambiguously draw the eyebrow, based on the intensity of the shade, we focus on the main color of the most saturated area of the eyebrow. We leave the shape natural, we don’t draw any graphic black eyebrows to match the hair color.

We make the tone of the face lighter, the correction of the face is soft with the help of blush, we do not touch the cheekbone. We choose blush without gray and lilac undertones. On an Asian type of appearance with a yellowish undertone, red-brown, rose-red, tangerine and brick red shades look beautiful. Apply blush to the top of the cheekbones - this will create freshness and a face lifting effect.

We highlight the lips softly without a clear outline to match the blush, make the color translucent, because if we paint our lips brightly with such a hairstyle and protruding ears, we will get a caricatured face of a clown.

Celeste

This image already has accents in the form of a hairstyle and a bright top dress with a dynamic pattern. The main mistake is eye makeup with shading. When the image is contrasting and rhythmic, it is worth supporting this rhythm with makeup - for example, with clear arrows, but without unnecessary color in the form of stretched shadows: here they look dirty. The lips and eyebrows are neatly painted – in this regard, everything is good.

How to fix?

This look is more suitable for the Met Gala, as it is quite grotesque. To make it more harmonious, you can highlight the line of the upper eyelid with a clear bordering black stele and well-colored eyelashes on the upper eyelid. When a client has such expressive and voluminous eyes, our task is to focus on the shape of the eyes and not add even more volume, so as not to get a “surprised frog”.

Zendaya

In this image, the main mistake in makeup is the wrong color scheme. The idea was to create a sleek, light makeup with tanned skin, thereby emphasizing the fragility and youth of the actress. However, when the color is chosen incorrectly, facial features look heavy or inexpressive, since color has the ability to draw attention to itself. And if you forget about contrast in makeup, then such incorrectly chosen monochrome makeup can make a girl invisible. In this case, makeup did not work in favor of the actress.

How to fix?

When creating a complete look, a makeup artist should pay attention to:

• on the rhythm and texture of the hairstyle;
• on the texture and color of the outfit;
• on facial features and coloring of appearance.

The work of a makeup artist is the final stage in the image, like the “cherry on the cake.” And you shouldn’t do a buffet on your face.
