In the 21st century, the development of cosmetology has become more scientific: microbiologists, geneticists, biochemists work in the field of cosmetology nowadays. We have other and new “families” of skin care ingredients: peptides; growth factors are technically also peptides, but they work a little differently; stem cells of plants; probiotics and prebiotics, metabiotics and other biotics; epigenetically active agents; SERMs are a new “family” of ingredients that only appeared in 2020.

Summing up, it should be noted that the advantages of the ingredients of the XXI century are definitely a targeted effect, taking into account the molecular mechanisms of aging, which are known today, acne, and other skin problems; the possibility of avoiding side effects; the possibility of using these tools for all groups of patients; the ability to create individual care that is easy to use; availability of a modern scientific basis.
