Not long ago, in one publication, we addressed an interesting topic about aging. The fact is that, the average human life expectancy has more than doubled in one century - from 35 to 70-75 years. That is, once upon a time life ended at 50, a person after 30 moved into the category of old men and women who lived out their lives. And this meant that there was no time to apply the experience that a person had accumulated throughout his life.

Never before on Earth have there been people who, at the age of 50, combined experience with so much energy and vitality. And the main condition for a good life after 50 is health, although this is important at any age.

A person changes his skin about 1000 times in his life. Or rather, it is updated so many times. A person’s appearance changes approximately 35 times in a lifetime, and each next one is always inferior to the previous one. And yet, what happened in the world that a person at 50, instead of degenerating, begins to develop?

In the modern world, the main driving force on the path to successful procreation and evolutionary changes is culture and its instrumental embodiments - technology. Technology now does much of the work that evolution did, and does it much faster: improving our physical skills and developing intelligence, allowing us to adapt to life in new, more complex environments. We no longer need aging as a lever that accelerates evolution, when the most adapted individual survives.

The current stage of development of human society makes it possible for more and more people to engage in mental activity. But in order to truly develop fully after 50, as Sechenov, the author of a classic work on brain reflexes, said:

“When working mentally, rest with physical activity is necessary.”

Physical activity makes it possible for muscles to develop and not stagnate. And this has a beneficial effect on the activity of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. During physical activity, breathing and pulse quicken, and blood flow to the internal organs accelerates. Harmful substances entering the blood are more actively removed from the body by the kidneys and skin... Muscular activity is the best release for anxiety and depression, therefore, to prevent diseases, it is necessary to regularly exercise all 697 muscles of our body. All structures of the human body must always be under load, even in sleep. Like the liver. When a person is sleeping, it is easier for her to cleanse the blood.
