Step-by-step chin correction using PHILLEX® products
Almost every specialist is faced with the problem of choosing a drug to correct different areas of the face. Let's look at the effect of PHILLEX® in the chin correction procedure.
Choice of drug.
When correcting aesthetic imperfections in the chin area, we use PHILLEX® Deep Plus and PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus.
The drug PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus is designed to replenish the lost volume of soft tissues of the face and correct its shape (sculpting).
PHILLEX® Deep Plus gives optimal results when injected into the middle layers of the dermis, reducing the level of dehydration in wrinkled skin areas.
Implantation can be performed using a fan technique, with each correction area filled from one access (Fig. 5). The average amount of material required for the procedure varies from 0.5 to 1 ml per side.
Rice. 5. Correction of insufficient volume of chin tissue by injecting PHILLEX® Deep Plus into the upper layers of the subdermis. View of the patient before (a) and after (c) the procedure
If no asymmetry was detected before the procedure, then the same amount of the drug is administered on both the right and left. Otherwise, the correction should also be aimed at mitigating the asymmetry.
After implantation, it is recommended to carry out a modeling massage; upon completion, apply ice packs to the correction areas, and then apply vitamin K cream and/or gel. We recommend that the patient continue this care at home over the next 24–72 hours.
Subdermal insertion of the implant into the periosteal layer PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus
This type of correction is used to enlarge the chin in the sagittal direction and leads to a reduction in disproportions in the lower third of the face caused by malocclusion or underdevelopment of the lower jaw (hypogenia), which makes it possible to give this area a more aesthetic appearance (Fig. 6).
For these purposes, we use PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus, designed specifically for changing the shape (sculpting) of the face. It is better to administer the drug using a needle with a diameter of 25 G
Rice. 6. Scheme for correcting imbalances caused by malocclusion or underdevelopment of the lower jaw (hypogenia)
The drug should be administered deeply - periosteally. To provide anesthesia, you can block the mental nerve with 2% lidocaine, injecting 1 ml of the drug on each side. The anesthetic should also be injected at the point where the injection itself will be made (near the pit of the chin). The procedure is carried out under sterile conditions (sterile gloves, dressings).
We insert the needle from a point near the fossa of the chin directly to the surface of the bone, then pass it along the bone to the correction area. We use a tunnel technique with retrograde injection of the drug into the corrected area, creating 3-5 “pockets” for placing the drug. The material should not be injected while the needle is being removed to avoid the implant residue being too superficial in the dermis.
The amount of drug required for correction can vary from 1.1 to 2.2 ml on each side. On average, it is enough to inject 1.1 ml of Phillex. If asymmetry is present, then this should be taken into account when making corrections.
After completing the manipulation on one side of the chin, we perform the same on the other, using the same access (Fig. 3, Fig. 7). Then you need to disinfect the puncture site and apply a sterile bandage.
We finish the procedure with a soft massage with modeling movements directed forward and upward. Immediately after implantation, apply ice packs to the correction area. There is no need for systemic antibiotic therapy.
Insertion of the implant into the supraperiosteal layer on the inside of the mouth PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus
This type of correction leads to the same results as the previous one.
After blocking the submental nerve, we inject a small amount of anesthetic into the area of the canine fossa (between the IV and V teeth). Then we make a micro-incision with a scalpel with a No. 11 blade. We insert a catheter through this incision and move along the surface of the bone to the chin area.
PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus is administered according to the method described above. After injecting the drug in one direction, repeat the procedure on the other side. The amount of drug required for correction is on average 1.1 ml.
After implantation is completed, apply a sterile bandage with an antiseptic (for example, iodine) to the injection site for several minutes. No stitches are required. Finally, we perform a light massage of the chin with modeling movements directed forward and upward.

conclusions
The main indicators indicate a marked improvement in both the relative angles and the distance to the upper lip and mandible. Results were also obtained on changes in facial proportions. It is safe to say that PHILLEX® Sub-Q Plus is a highly effective means of augmentation of the lower jaw area.
