Probably, none of the theories of healthy nutrition caused so much controversy among doctors of various specialties as the theory of separate nutrition. Is separate nutrition useful or harmful? What prevails - the disadvantages of separate nutrition or its advantages? Let's figure it out together.

There is no rigorous scientific evidence to support separate feeding. Of course, eating one product at one meal will not cause much harm. However, long-term separate feeding can adversely affect the final assimilation of food.

In the literature, you can find claims that the Hay split diet is a good way to lose weight, but weight loss in this case is associated with reducing fat intake and restricting food to one main type of food. Hay's diet can be recommended to those who are trying to change their eating habits and stop overeating.

Supporters of the theory of separate nutrition believe that if incompatible foods enter the stomach at the same time, their digestion is not complicated. And poorly digested products are deposited in the body in the form of fat and waste products.

However, not all nutritionists recognize the undeniable benefits of separate meals. The main argument "against" is the artificiality of this system and, as a result, the violation of normal, natural digestion. In addition, the doctrine of separate nutrition does not reflect all processes of the physiology of digestion that occur in the gastrointestinal tract.
