Biorejuvenation treatments are based on repeating several sessions according to different protocols aimed at providing anabolic stimulation of skin fibroblasts. As a result, the biosynthesis of the components of the dermal matrix and hydration are enhanced, the effect of skin tightening and the restoration of the fibrillar network is observed. The results of biorejuvenation are usually satisfactory in the initial and middle stages of photo- and chrono-aging of the skin, but a maintenance course should be periodically carried out.

In the following study, the authors tested a new class III biorejuvenation drug based on heterologous type I collagen, which has a beneficial effect on the skin at all stages of its aging. To do this, the authors of this article determined the optimal dosage of the drug, talked about the need for the patient to follow the regimen and treatment regimen, determine the degree of client satisfaction, and also offered the best protocol for preserving and consolidating the treatment results.

Interest in rejuvenating cosmetic procedures has grown significantly in recent years. The basis of such procedures can be both physical methods of exposure, namely radio frequencies, laser and intense pulsed light, and biochemical methods involving the use of injectable preparations based on non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, polynucleotides, vitamins, organic silicone and many others.

Characteristics of the drug and rationale for its use

For 30 years, in dermatology, along with plastic and vascular surgery, heterologous type I collagen has been used for wound healing and ulcer treatment. The most popular drug of this kind is made on the basis of lyophilized collagen patches. They are usually applied to the wound and, stimulating tissue regeneration, accelerate healing. It has been proven that heterologous collagen affects mitosis of fibroblasts, tissue regeneration and stimulation of new collagen biosynthesis.
