World scientific research proves that global interest in nanotechnology is growing every day. And this is not surprising, because the possibility of using matter at the nanoscale allows achieving colossal results in many industries, including cosmetology.

The basis of so-called nanotechnology is the control of objects whose size is in the range of 1-100 nanometers (nm) and which exhibit unique properties. Their total surface area is so large relative to their size that it allows changing and controlling their physicochemical and biochemical parameters, setting the necessary tasks.

Today, we can say that it is nanoparticles that make cosmetics truly therapeutic. After all, once the skin seemed like an insurmountable barrier to many medical and cosmetic products, but today the necessary “carriers” have been found that can deliver the product to the site of its action.

Titanium oxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles are the main components of sunscreen cosmetics, which when applied to the skin provide a high degree of protection from the sun's rays. They form an invisible screen that reflects UV rays.
