The capabilities and interventions of a dermatologist and a cosmetologist for acne are radically different. Despite the need for dermatological treatment of acne, cosmetologists have a large number of tools at their disposal that expand the potential of this therapy and allow for adequate skin care.

It is no secret that the main clients of cosmetic offices and dermatological clinics are teenagers with acne and people with oily problem skin (seborrhea). It is very important how the beautician will behave at the first meeting with such a patient: will he demonstrate his competence (sometimes to the detriment of material interests) or will he want to make money on a one-time “cleansing” procedure. The result of such contact can be long (for years) and fruitful cooperation with the gradual avoidance of the initial problem (as it is resolved, of course) to constant health care and anti-aging measures or the client’s referral to another specialist. Therefore, let’s figure out what should be the role of a beautician who does not have the specialization of a dermatologist in working with skin suffering from acne.
