Chemical peels: what the practitioner should remember
Based on the principles of evidence-based medicine

The development of cosmetology requires a review of approaches to the selection of therapeutic cosmetology methods and standardization of procedure techniques. In particular, peeling as a medical manipulation is accompanied not only by increased requirements for specialist training, but also by a clear step-by-step regulation of the cosmetologist's goals, tasks and actions.
Chemical peels are a common procedure in the cosmetic service system, which is developed and improved, based on the knowledge of wound healing after controlled chemical damage to the skin.
A chemical peel is the application to the skin of a chemical agent that causes the controlled destruction of part or all of the epidermis with or without the dermis, resulting in exfoliation or removal of surface rashes followed by regeneration of the epidermis and dermis.
The peel guidelines provided in this article outline the indications for chemical peels, the variety of agents used, methodology, pre- and post-peel care, peel-associated complications, and expected results.
