Laser technologies: correction and removal of permanent makeup

Laser technologies in the permanent make-up room

Correcting the mistakes of inexperienced permanent makeup artists has been a serious and often insoluble problem until recently. Now laser technology has come to the rescue.

The profession of permanent makeup master is becoming more and more popular in the beauty business. However, there is a downside to this popularity, when poorly trained specialists take up work without the necessary theoretical background, proper skills and experience. Correcting their mistakes has until recently been a serious and often insoluble problem. Now laser technologies have come to the aid of the victims.

A spoiled shape of the eyelids, an unnatural color of the eyebrows, a skewed contour of the lips ... One can list for a long time the defects and errors with which frustrated women, dissatisfied with the result of their permanent makeup, turn to other masters, more experienced and qualified, for help.
Of course, there are also methods for correcting such errors: special techniques and tools (correctors) have been developed that allow you to somehow correct poor-quality work. However, not all flaws can be easily corrected - after all, often the pigment gets into areas where it cannot be blocked with a new paint application.
The situation is even worse when permanent makeup is applied in violation of technology: either the color was chosen incorrectly, or the paint was injected too deeply. In this case, instead of the prescribed one and a half to four years, it can remain on the face forever, hopelessly ruining it.

A particular problem is the removal of spilled pigment. Most often, the paint "floats" when working on the eyelids. This is understandable: the skin there is very thin, and the subcutaneous fat is loose, with many passages and cavities through which the paint can spread. Even experienced craftsmen are not immune from such trouble in their work, let alone beginners.
So is there a chance for a woman who has received a disfigured face as a result of inept intervention to return his normal appearance? There is a chance!

Tattoo Removal: Then and Now

Until recently, dermabrasion remained the only way to remove an unsuccessfully applied drawing. Needless to say, the procedure is radical, leaving behind scars.
However, change has come here too. The technique that served its purpose was replaced by laser technologies that can correct a very wide range of errors that occur when drawing drawings.
Today, for the correction of permanent makeup, so-called JAG lasers are used, with a wavelength of 1064 nm and a pulse frequency of 1 to 5 Hz. These devices are compact and easy to handle. The price of such a laser installation is from 4-5 thousand dollars, but many experts are sure that "it's worth it." The very presence of this device in the cabin gives the master confidence. Performing arbitrarily delicate and responsible work, he can feel calmer: mistakes are corrected.

How the laser works

The effect of using a laser is expressed in several sequential actions. A beam of laser light easily passes through the tissues and acts at a depth of up to 4 - 5 mm, destroying the pigment lying there, mainly of the cold spectrum. At the same time, the laser does not violate the integrity of the skin, which is especially important when working on the face, and the skin is subsequently completely restored.
The thermal reaction caused by the laser destroys the capsule of collagen and elastin fibers that has formed around the crystallized pigment. Then, under the influence of the same reaction, the process of "sublimation" occurs: the paint leaves the capsule, and part of the pigment instantly evaporates. The remaining paint enters the intercellular space, from where it is partially excreted by phagocytes, cells that are responsible for cleansing tissues from foreign microelements. This process, which is called phagocytosis, occurs gradually, within 2-3 weeks after the application of the laser.

Removal Technology

The method for deleting a picture is quite simple. The handpiece of the laser device is aimed at the area to be removed from a distance of 30-35 cm. When the object is brought into focus, the master gradually brings the maniple closer to the face at a distance of 15 cm, trying not to hold the pulsating beam of light in one place. In some cases, the pigment disappears right before our eyes, in others it becomes noticeably discolored.
Another important point that must be foreseen in advance: the laser causes, albeit not very strong, but still unpleasant pain. For the client, this pain should not come as a surprise and cause stress. To avoid this situation, before starting work on the face, you need to ask the client to put his hand under the laser beam. Then he will be able to feel what sensations await him, and he will be mentally prepared for them.

How long does it take to flatten a bad drawing? Masters who are familiar with laser technology for the correction of permanent makeup already know that the fastest and easiest paint is removed from the eyelids, since the depth of the pigment there is small and the amount of paint itself is insignificant. Stroke and "arrows" on the eyelids can disappear the first time, after just one procedure. Eyebrows are almost as easy to adjust. The most difficult task is to correct an incorrectly made lip contour with a laser, since warm colors are removed much worse. Here, the adjustment process takes a longer time also because the pigment to be removed, as a rule, lies at a greater depth.
It is very difficult to remove pure colors: yellow and red (it is better not to use them at all); much lighter - compound paints, including both warm and cold colors (shades of brown, green, etc.). In any case, no matter how well the drawing lends itself, you should not try to reduce it at a time, otherwise you can cause deep thermal damage, after which scars may remain.
Usually, the removal of unsuccessfully made permanent makeup requires three to four sessions. It will be possible to repeat the procedure only after the complete healing of the skin, that is, after two to three weeks. And after the destruction occurs, after waiting another two or three weeks, necessary for the restoration of tissues, you can proceed to a new application of the pigment.
