Modeling and extension – in your understanding, are these synonyms or are they still different concepts?

In my understanding, these are two completely different concepts.

Modeling is the creation of a clear architecture of an artificial nail in compliance with all the rules, highest points, parallels, transverse and longitudinal arches, which makes the design visually very thin and wearable. Modeling gives us the complex architecture of an artificial nail.

Extensions can be performed using tips, when we can extend the free edge of a natural nail without adhering to the rules on external and internal architecture. This is a salon option for lengthening nails.

When is it important to use modeling? Who should it be offered to first?

First of all, modeling should be offered to clients who suffer from onychophagia - a psychological disease when people bite their nails. With the help of modeling, we can adjust the size of the nail bed, the shape of the natural nail and bring it into the correct state.

Modeling is also recommended for clients with nail bed deformities or if the nails have different lengths and shapes, which is very common. Sometimes you can see all types of nails on the fingers of one person.

Other girls who love beautiful long nails can also do modeling. The main thing is that the hands are well-groomed, and whether the nails are modeled or covered with gel polish is up to the clients.

How to encourage a client to consider nail modeling?

First and foremost, modeling work should be featured on your Instagram feed. Because if clients only see your gel polish coating, they will never ask about modeling. Post beautiful works with different built forms, and then the client, seeing your work, will want the same nails for himself.

And the second point. Often clients want the same nails as the master's. And if you have beautiful long nails with a design, be prepared that girls will want the same for themselves. Therefore, it is primarily up to us, the masters, whether the client wants to wear modeled nails.

Moreover, modeling always visually lengthens the brush, making it more elegant, beautiful and feminine.
