This is news - the sunniest Ukrainian artist will soon become a mother! Svetlana Tarabarova shared her emotions and impressions with us. She also talked about what was happening in her creative and personal life!
The article was first published in Makeup&YOU Professional magazine in 2018.
Svetlana, congratulations on this great news and on your wonderful position. Tell me, has the realization that you will soon become a mother changed you in any way? Thank you very much! Definitely. I became more receptive, but at the same time calm and peaceful. I understand that my health is the health of my unborn child. Previously, on tour, due to lack of time, I could limit myself to snacks and lack of sleep. Now I prefer healthy sleep, I walk a lot in the fresh air. I also try to eat healthy and regularly, and prepare food for the road when we go to a concert in other cities. Have you found any new creative inspiration? Perhaps you wanted to write songs about or for children? What I feel now cannot be expressed in words! New life is beating inside me, little Universe! Elevated mood and inspiration do not leave me. I write almost every day. More precisely, we are already creating together with the baby (smiles). I already have songs for children: I once wrote a composition for my older sister’s children’s vocal group. But, of course, the desire to create something new does not leave me. What inspires you most? People and their stories. Most of my songs are autobiographical or about the lives of loved ones and acquaintances. I write about what I feel. Letters, messages and videos from my listeners are also inspiring. I understand that there are a lot of people on my “light side of music” and it’s not in vain! Admit it, have you already thought about a name for your baby? There are several options. Let me just say that these are the most ordinary, but beautiful names. I believe that it will bring good luck to the child! Your husband Alexey is also your director. After so much time together, do you ever get tired of each other? If so, how do you try to rest? Of course, like all couples, we have disagreements. But we don’t get tired of each other. My husband is my biggest supporter and most of all my friend! He taught me to resolve all conflicts by talking. Therefore, in our family there are no loud scandals and, especially, moments when we don’t want to see each other.
You starred in your video while you were four months pregnant. And now you continue to work. Are you planning to take a longer vacation than the standard month and a half for an artist due to motherhood? I always devote myself 100 percent to what I love, I live for music and I can’t live without the stage for long. The concert schedule is scheduled until August, that is, until the ninth month. Then I’ll take a short break to present a new album in the fall, for which I’m actively working on material now, as well as a new concert show. Every year your music becomes more sunny and positive. Does this have anything to do with your internal changes? Can you say that you are becoming happier every year? First of all, it has to do with my feelings. I just felt that people needed music full of bright energy. The singles “I say so”, “Good with you”, “Tsunami”, “Manifesto” inspire people to open their hearts. They have become a real anthem for all lovers! I see the burning eyes of the audience; at concerts we sing in unison with the audience. Therefore, I decided that there should be even more songs with such a sound. I leave in each composition the same messages about faith in yourself and your strengths, love and sincere thoughts. Such music and such songs make me happier! When have you been most acutely and piercingly happy lately? Every day. When I wake up and see the eyes of a loved one, plan a place for a baby’s crib, walk with my beloved dog, write songs in the studio, plan to travel hundreds of kilometers to meet the audience, when I go on stage... And many more simple moments that I enjoy. Even a sunny day makes me happy! What has been the most pleasant recognition of your creativity for you? I receive touching letters regularly. It’s incredibly nice to know that your music became the first wedding dance or the moment when your loved one was proposed to. My songs give people the most positive emotions, light, slightly changing their inner world, and this is the greatest reward and recognition for me.
What is the song “Manifesto” about? What does it mean exactly to you? In one of your interviews, you said that this is your most difficult video work? Can you tell us a little about behind the scenes? About the sun inside and believing in yourself. This is a manifesto, a call for millions of people not to be afraid to change their lives, make their dreams come true, and be sure to be happy. The thirty-hour shooting of the video for the single “Manifest” was the largest in my career. In total, about 75 people were involved on the set - professional ballet dancers, famous freestylers, acrobats and young rope jumpers. We also installed a record amount of lighting equipment for video clip production (installation took several days). The largest shoots turned out to be very difficult. Filmed on the coldest day of spring (at a temperature of -10 degrees). In the fourth month of pregnancy, I had to dance our “chaleni” productions along with the ballet. But the result was worth it! Video work energizes hundreds of thousands of people. You have been showing some very vivid images on stage lately. Do you use cosmetics in everyday life? In my free time from filming, I try to give my skin rest and don’t wear makeup. The main cosmetics is a smile on your face and happiness in your eyes! What are your favorite self-care routines? I regularly visit a professional cosmetologist and take care of my face using recommended products. I also pay a lot of attention to my hair - bright color requires careful care. The most important thing is healthy sleep in a well-ventilated area and a balanced diet. After all, beauty comes from within!
How would you spend a completely free day of your life? Such days are extremely rare, but if a day off appears in my schedule, I prefer to spend it with my family. We take the dog Alvin and go outside the city into nature. We laugh a lot, talk and relax our souls. Which famous women do you admire? Audrey Hepburn, Nina Simone, Madonna. Strong, talented, beautiful and unique women. Their films, music, determination, and love for their work cannot but inspire. I listen and am truly in love with their work. Do you travel a lot? What are your favorite countries? Where would you like to visit? Not much, but every trip will certainly remain in the memory. Last year I was pleasantly impressed with Prague. Upon arrival, I shared my emotions with friends for a long time and recommended must-visit places and dishes that you should definitely try. My dream city was Rome, so romantic and cinematic! The most beloved films were filmed there. And two years ago this dream came true - we spent our honeymoon in the capital of Italy. We visited the famous Spanish Steps, where the incredible Audrey Hepburn once ate gelato, and, of course, made a wish by throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain. It will come true!Read also
