Sandbegging makeup is ideal for the summer season because it prevents cosmetic products from bleeding in the heat. We explain in the material what its essence and main features are.

The makeup technique called “sandbegging” cannot be called new - back in 2015 it was invented by star makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic . The essence of this makeup technique is to prevent makeup from “floating” on particularly hot summer days. The technique got its name for a reason: sandbags are used to combat floods, and sandbagging prevents makeup from running.

What beauty products are needed for sandbagging?

Makeup using the sandbegging technique is performed using transparent loose powder - it is the star product of this technique. To blend and apply it, you will also need a damp sponge and a voluminous fluffy brush.

The powder should be applied in such a way that it seems to be absorbed into the surface of the skin - this is how it will ensure long-lasting and beautiful summer makeup. Throughout the day, the powder will absorb the sebum that will be released, so the cosmetics will not run or smudge.

How to do sandbagging correctly?

Leave the sandbagging for the end - create a classic make-up for your client and only then take up the powder. First, even out your skin tone with foundation, cover up any imperfections with concealer, and use concealer if necessary. Make up your eyebrows and eyes - working with powder will be the final touch.

Then, using a damp sponge, apply translucent loose powder to the T-zone, chin, under the eyes and around the lips. Do not skimp on the product; the layer of powder should be quite dense. Wait five minutes for the powder to imprint into the skin, absorb moisture and sebum.

The last step is to brush the remaining powder from your face with a fluffy brush and blend the product so that it blends into the skin.

The result is a Photoshop-inspired matte skin and incredibly long-lasting makeup that won't smudge in the heat.

Sandbegging for the under-eye area

Pay special attention to the area under the eyes. Sandbegging will be your miracle way to avoid the appearance of cracks in the concealer layer, because the transparent powder can fix your makeup for several hours.

Immediately after concealer, apply a layer of loose powder to the under-eye area and wait five minutes. In this case, it is important that the client does not smile, squint or laugh, so that the area under the eyes remains motionless. Otherwise, cracks and fine lines will immediately appear on the concealer layer. After time, remove excess powder with a fluffy brush and blend it if necessary.

This makeup technique has conquered sunny California and is gradually expanding its horizons. Are you ready to get to know her better?
