Irina Bublik: about the main slogan in work and favorite images
Interview with a makeup artist

Irina Bublik is a talented makeup artist, teacher and organizer of photo hen parties in the most beautiful cities in the world.
We talked with the master on a variety of topics and found out how Irina began her career as a makeup artist, what achievements she is most proud of, and how her makeup courses differ from others.
– How did you come up with the idea of becoming a makeup artist?
– This decision was not spontaneous, I came to this over time. There comes a time when you begin to value yourself and your time more. Instead of sitting at an unloved job from nine to eighteen, I set myself the goal of developing creatively, working for myself and having fun at the same time. I wrote a letter of resignation, decided on a school for basic makeup training, and went to study.
– You like to use cosmetics in doses when creating images for clients. Why?
– My main slogan in work is don’t spoil it! Client makeup should be light, practical and harmonious. Without discomfort and the effect of a mask on the face. I always try to highlight a woman’s natural beauty and correct minor flaws, if any.
– And yet, what kind of makeup do you like to do more – bright and colorful or more monochrome and natural?
– I love using all the riot of colors in my work – the brighter, the more impressive! But if with clients it is usually the most natural, monochrome makeup, then with models on set I have a blast. This is how I create color balance in my work. (Smiles.)
– Do you participate in makeup championships and competitions? What achievements are you most proud of?
– At least once a year I participate in either a competition or a championship. Such events help you grow professionally and also give you an additional reason to be proud of yourself. Last year I took part in the IBM International Makeup Championship and took third place in the Haute Couture Smoky Eyes category.
2019 was also very productive in creative terms: together with the team we held another photo bachelorette party in Rome (I am most proud of this own project), launched online training courses on makeup, participated in photo days, attended several master classes of my talented colleagues and worked on the most bright wedding season!
– Do you like to experiment with cosmetics or do you prefer proven products?
– I love experimenting with new products, especially if they really turn out to be worthy and become favorites. But disappointments also happen. Therefore, before using a new product in my work, I always test it on myself or invite a model to a creative shoot, where together we test the strength of the beauty novelties in my case.
– What are the benefits of the makeup courses you provide? How are they different from others?
– We always have a positive and friendly atmosphere at our courses! During this period, I provide training only on an individual basis, which allows me to pay maximum attention to the student. Also, I am never greedy in terms of information - I pass on everything I know to my students. I never criticize, but try to motivate as much as possible and make people fall in love with our profession with bright colors.
– What are your top 3 tips or wishes for aspiring makeup artists?
- Never give up! Believe in yourself! To work a lot!
