Long gone are the days of makeup makeup. Schemes and strict restrictions have disappeared. In the modern world, there are two most popular types of makeup: refreshing, nude makeup, which is designed to highlight the natural beauty of a woman, and accessory makeup, which its owner wears from time to time, that is, makeup that should match the situation. How harmoniously a client looks in makeup is influenced by many factors: the color of appearance, style, national, cultural traditions, etc. Today we will talk about the rules of makeup for clients of different age categories.

Makeup for teenage girls

Teenagers begin to use decorative cosmetics around the age of 12. When doing makeup for the category of girls from 12 to 16 years old, it is very important to remember the fact that any rough, dark and bright makeup will make them vulgar and unnatural. Bright shades are acceptable in evening or stage makeup; in other cases, soft tones should be used. The main attention should be paid to the skin, its cleansing and care. A characteristic feature for makeup at this age is a fluffy, seemingly untouched eyebrow: this gives the image perkiness and freshness. I also recommend using lip glosses and highlighters.

Makeup for young girls

16–18 years old is a period of active self-discovery, experimentation with appearance, and the formation of one’s own style. All this affects the appearance of the girl as a whole. This is the period when you want to try everything for yourself. It is not recommended to use thick foundation and dry powders so as not to dry out the girl’s skin. For everyday makeup at this age, the most important thing is to make a beautiful eyebrow and choose the right color of foundation, which causes the most difficulties and problems. Shadows and blush should be translucent, tones should be slightly blurred, with a soft natural shine, not matte or excessively sparkling.

In the period from 20 to 29 years old, a girl, as a rule, has already completed her studies, got married, gave birth to a child, or made a career. In any case, she looks quite conservative and reserved. And it doesn’t matter whether she’s a young mother or an office worker. During this period, you should think about the right choice of cosmetics, because now it is especially important. Taking care of yourself and choosing the right decorative products is the key to healthy skin in the future. Your cosmetic bag must contain products with protection against ultraviolet rays. During this period, girls usually choose more expensive, good quality cosmetics, and their cosmetic arsenal becomes much larger.

This is not surprising, since right now is the period of actively building your life. In choosing makeup, a young woman is already more selective, although she can afford unexpected images, try on the look of some star, that is, everything that is fashionable, original and at the same time wearable. When working with a girl of this age group, a makeup artist can focus on cheekbones, bright or dark lips: in any case, emphasized sexuality is a justified “trick”, because it is during this period that youth and opportunities blossom. Contrast and expressiveness in makeup are relevant, because at this age a woman can wear anything, because she is full of vital energy.

Makeup for mature women

At 30–40 years old there is a different beauty, different techniques for applying makeup. Because during this period our client is a confident woman who clearly knows what suits her and why. If your client base includes this age category, I recommend keeping a client card to record what products you used for makeup, since a woman at this age values her time and always wants to be sure of the result.

Grooming, sleekness, and self-sufficiency distinguish a mature woman. She can already afford the best cosmetics, expensive brands. When it comes to foundations, it is better to choose a plastic coating (BB, CC creams). And moisturizers with UV protection are a must to prevent dry skin and wrinkles.

Most foundations and eye shadows now contain reflective particles, and this effect allows you to optically even out the skin texture. Matte and satin eye products will look more noble, but sparkles and an excess of highlighter will be inappropriate. What looks good on a 17 year old girl will look funny at 35 years old.

It is better not to use black cosmetics for the eyes, so as not to look gloomy, but to use pencils and shadows in more muted shades. Bright lips will add piquancy and nobility to the image, but it is very important that they are not too dark, because such shades will add age. Soft accents, tenderness, good skin color - this is what is refreshing and will be appropriate in any makeup. Give your skin a little glow while still feeling hydrated.

During this period, a woman may notice that the thickness of her eyebrows and eyelashes has disappeared, so it is important to pay attention to the upper part of her face and replenish what has changed. I recommend not drawing the eyebrows in too graphically clear lines, because it will look rude and irrelevant and will focus attention on age. It is best to highlight your eyebrows with shadows of a suitable color or lipsticks for brows in a slightly lighter color than your natural eyebrow. It is strictly forbidden to make a very clear contour of the lips, otherwise it will give the woman a certain rudeness.
