Vitamins from a branch: the healing properties of cherries

Cherry season is approaching, which means it's time to enjoy this berry to the fullest, because the benefits of cherries far outweigh the purely aesthetic, decorative effect - and who among us didn't adorn our ears with a pair of cherry earrings as a child?

Traditional medicine has long used cherry tree bark in antipyretic and antigout preparations. The gum contained in the bark is a good remedy for arthritis. However, in herbal medicine, the fruits and the stalk (petioles) are mainly used.

Despite its high sugar content, cherries are not very nutritious. However, they boast a significant amount of vitamins (A, C, B1, PP), mineral salts (iron, phosphorus, chlorine, sulfur, magnesium, sodium, potassium) and trace elements (zinc, copper, cobalt, manganese).

Cherries contain no less water-soluble vitamins than pomegranates. They also contain a lot of coumarin, a substance that reduces blood clotting. This means that they can be successfully (and, no less importantly, with pleasure!) used by those who want to get rid of atherosclerosis. Cherries are also indispensable for the prevention of this disease!
