There are not many diseases in dermatology whose etiology is as well studied as acne. Therefore, the treatment of this category of patients has very good prospects if treatment tactics are used that affect the etiological aspects and links of pathogenesis.

The presence of inflammatory elements on the face of a teenager is most often perceived by parents and others as an “age-related” phenomenon, and in this regard, a persistent opinion is formed that you just need to wait out this stage by choosing the right cosmetics. However, the skin is a unique organ that has a large number of functions, one of which is signaling and informational. Therefore, the appearance of various formations on the skin or a change in the quality of the skin always indicates any problems with the body as a whole. And the so-called "age-related" changes in the skin of adolescents, and especially in patients aged 23–25, actually reflect those changes in the hormonal background and metabolism that determine the etiopathogenesis of acne.

In addition to the direct connection of acne with the condition of the whole organism, it is also worth noting the social aspect of this disease. Most patients who consult a specialist with the problem of acne are young people, in the future of which they plan to build a personal life, career, etc. Therefore, for many of them, the presence of acne becomes a serious obstacle to starting any relationship, which provokes the formation of low self-esteem, leads to isolation, aggressiveness. Thus, timely and competent assistance to such patients is an important medical and social task.
