Rheological properties when choosing a dermal filler
What is important when choosing a filler?
Dermal fillers based on hyaluronic acid are extremely popular among specialists. Let's understand the role of rheological properties in the choice of fillers
Dermal fillers are one of the effective and safe methods of skin restoration in case of involutional changes, while having a long-lasting effect and a minimal recovery period. The physical and rheological properties of fillers depend on many factors, including the concentration of hyaluronic acid and the method of its binding.
The resistance of the filler to the influence of static and dynamic forces is characterized by several indicators. Among them are the modulus of elasticity under static compression (G'), which characterizes the stiffness of the gel, the modulus of elasticity under dynamic compression (E'), which characterizes the elasticity of the gel and volumizing ability, and cohesiveness, which ensures the absence of migration.
Hyaluronic acid-based fillers differ in quantitative indicators of modules G', E' and cohesiveness. The high cohesiveness of the drug prevents its migration, preserving its integrity. Indicators of modules E' are important for optimal tissue support, the value of the module G' is for modeling and providing the necessary shape.
