Obesity treatment: modern approaches

The problem of obesity and overweight is at the intersection of the interests of doctors of all specialties. To solve it, a well-chosen diet or new medications are not enough - only a comprehensive, integrated approach will help the patient achieve the desired result for a long time.
The market for drugs and “miracle” remedies for fighting extra pounds is growing at a tremendous pace, the Internet is overflowing with information about all kinds of diets. Instead of creating national programs, the market is overflowing with products that have nothing to do with healthy eating, and instead of promoting a healthy lifestyle, we can hear that “there should be many good people,” and if they are self-sufficient and satisfied with themselves, then nothing needs to be done.
In modern medicine, there has long been a clear opinion that obesity is a disease that needs to be treated. This statement was made possible by the data of numerous studies that showed that, in addition to a decrease in the quality of life and the presence of a mass of diseases associated with weight gain, such people have a sharply increased risk of oncological pathology and a reduced life expectancy.
Based on the postulate that obesity is a chronic disease, the specified condition requires long-term medical observation and treatment.
