Hyperpigmentation: an algorithm for daily skin care
In the treatment of hyperpigmentation, a comprehensive approach is important
When choosing cosmetics containing whitening ingredients, preference should be given to complex compositions, the components of which synergistically enhance the effect of each other, affecting all mechanisms of the development of hyperpigmentation.
The goal of daily skin care for hyperpigmentation is to destroy melanin and suppress its synthesis. For chemical inactivation of already produced melanin, agents containing mercury, bismuth, and hydrogen peroxide have long been used. Today they were abandoned due to high toxicity. Hydroquinone methyl ester is less toxic and has a complex effect, suppressing the production of melanin and stimulating its destruction in cells. Arbutin, azelaic, kojic acids and other active ingredients are included in the composition of whitening agents.
When choosing cosmetics containing whitening ingredients, preference should be given to complex compositions, the components of which synergistically enhance the effect of each other, affecting all mechanisms of the development of hyperpigmentation. It is quite difficult to make such a choice among the products on sale, so you should first of all pay attention to the products of large manufacturers of cosmeceuticals, which offer whole lines of whitening preparations.
