You use a large amount of equipment in your work, the source of which is light. Is Nordlys really that different from other similar systems?

The #Nordlys flash is fundamentally different from all others on the market: the double radiation filtration system cuts off the lower light range, which has been proven to be oncogenic for the skin of patients.

What does this give the patient?⠀

At what age can this technology be used?

The technology is indicated for both the youngest and older patients. This machine also allows you to work with vascular pathologies in young children. I would like to note that a small number of devices can boast of such a property; in my practice, this is the second one.

What effects can be achieved with Nordlys ?

Reducing the secretion of sebum, reducing the size of the sebaceous glands and the number of inflammatory elements. This is due to the fact that cell migration does not occur through pathological vessels.

The production of young collagen is started, the production of metal matrix proteinases is reduced, due to the increase in TGF-b1, which prevents “clogging of pores”.

The production of tissue inhibitors increases, which helps to “strengthen” the dermis. In this, the effect of intense pulsed light is somewhat opposite to the effects of solar damage.

Is it possible to resurface the skin and how long does it take to recover?

Yes, it does, this is FRAX 1550 nm - dynamic rejuvenation. The essence of the procedure is that so-called microtherapeutic zones are formed in the skin - columns of destroyed old skin surrounded by healthy skin. At the same time, the surface stratum corneum of the epidermis is not damaged and the protective barrier of the skin is preserved.

The procedure is well tolerated by patients and is performed using local anesthesia. After the manipulation, slight redness is observed, and from the second day a bronze effect appears, the skin looks tanned. On the 4-5th day, the face acquires a beautiful, healthy color, so rehabilitation with this procedure is minimal.

Some patients only need one treatment to achieve optimal results, but sometimes up to four treatments are required, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This makes it possible to influence the restoration of the dermis, remove acne, post-acne scars, fight wrinkles, enlarged pores, while the epidermis is renewed, and skin texture improves.⠀⠀

It is also possible to use narrowband light in the same treatment as frax rejuvenation thanks to the Nordlys combination treatment, which is FDA approved as a "light and bright" treatment.

What is this “light and bright” procedure?

This is a new procedure from the company Candela , thanks to which more and more young and radiant faces appear.

Complementary Nordlys treatments, combining SWT narrowband pulsed light and the Er:glass 1550 FRAX laser, are typically performed in a course of three treatments spaced one month apart. As a result, the patient receives lighter, more luminous and firmer skin.

I would like to note that the FRAX procedure, either alone or in combination with light and bright, has no seasonality. Considering the fact that a large number of Nordlys systems are used by specialists in the USA, and Los Angeles and Florida do not even know such a season as winter, this indicates the therapeutic safety of this device.

In Ukraine, they can work all year round, of course, taking into account precautions 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after active sun and the use of a high-degree SPF factor. I also recommend the so-called SPF “from the inside” - these are antioxidant dietary supplements with Ferrnblock fern extract from Сantabria Labs (Spain), which work in synergy with the Nordlys system.

What patient problems are solved using this system?

For the procedure, patients with pigmented lesions, visible homogeneous erythema, telangiectasias, and initial or moderate manifestations of impaired skin tone should be selected.

Another feature of the procedure is the ability to work on all areas, such as the face, neck, décolleté, arms, elbows, knees. Rehabilitation after laser treatment will take up to three days, and there will be slight swelling and redness, so there is no need to sit at home, and the result will be noticeable within a month!

What conveniences can you highlight for a specialist when working with Nordlys ?

The pilot beam and powerful accompanying illumination provide excellent visibility of the treated area during the procedure.

It is important to take into account spectral selectivity: different tissue structures are chromophores that absorb different wavelengths. For example, photothermolysis of deoxyhemoglobin occurs at a wavelength of 550-560 nm, photothermolysis of oxyhemoglobin - at wavelengths of 542 and 577 nm, methemoglobin - 577 nm.

If the optical target is deeper, it is advisable to use filters with longer wavelengths (for example, when working with deep vessels), since they penetrate deeper with less energy absorption in the superficial layers of the skin.

When the energy density in the tissue reaches a temperature of up to 70°C for at least 1 ms, the destroyed cells are phagocytosed or enter the lymphatic bed. The pulse duration should be less than the time during which the target will have time to transfer heat to the surrounding tissues, i.e. less thermal relaxation time (the period during which the target tissue releases 63% of the thermal energy).

When working with large objects, it is advisable to split the pulse into several sub-pulses, which allows the surrounding objects to cool while the heat destroys the target tissue.

Rosacea is usually a persistent process with which it is very difficult to achieve a good result. What can you say about Nordlys ? Does it cope with the task?

Rosacea is a chronic disease characterized by persistent dilation of blood vessels in the facial area. The disease is really difficult to treat, but! Nordlys is able to effectively combat this condition.

How many procedures do you need to do for a lasting result?

For a lasting result, 4-5 procedures are needed throughout the year, while the next year, 2-3 procedures are usually sufficient. The disease is often hereditary, and this is not just a minor cosmetic flaw. During pathological growth, small vessels are capable of activating metalmatrix proteases, which destroy the dermis and collagen structure, causing skin aging. Patients should be aware of provoking factors that can aggravate the process.

In the first place are UV radiation (active tanning, passion for solariums), smoking, alcohol, temperature changes, blood pressure, active sports, baths, love of hot spicy foods, as well as ignoring the use of SPF products with a high protection factor.
