Let's look at the possibilities of figure correction methods for excess weight, local fat deposits and cellulite.

Igor Antonyuk, methodologist at the Academy of Scientific Beauty company (Ukraine, Kiev)

Perhaps this problem arose as a result of an improvement in living standards: we began to move less, preferring cars, we began to eat better, although the quality of products and their composition leave much to be desired, the environment and constant stress also played a negative role... Disruption of metabolic processes and, as As a result, obesity now manifests itself even in young people, so figure correction procedures are currently more than in demand.

Local fat deposits and cellulite are one of the most common problems with which clients turn to beauty salons and clinics. However, to solve it there is no single universal method - an integrated approach and the participation of an endocrinologist and nutritionist are required. Dermatocosmetologists, for their part, can offer body treatments, massages, wraps and, of course, hardware methods. Hardware cosmetology is a current trend that gives good results and makes the work of cosmetologists easier.

Ultrasonic exposure

One of the most common and long-used methods of figure correction. Depending on the frequency of ultrasound, acoustic waves penetrate to a depth of 1 to 7 cm. Ultrasonic vibrations form zones of variable acoustic pressure, causing vibration and changes in the position of intracellular and extracellular substances, which has a stimulating effect on skin cells and increases the regenerative ability of tissues. Ultrasound increases epithelial and vascular permeability and allows active components to be carried through the skin. Strengthens microcirculation and activates metabolic processes by increasing the temperature in tissues, has an anti-edematous, defibrosating effect. Acoustic vibrations, depending on the frequency characteristics, increase the permeability of adipocyte membranes or create a cavitation effect in adipose tissue with damage to cell membranes and the release of triglycerides into the interstitial space. Ultrasound, affecting different layers of the skin and penetrating into the subcutaneous fat to a certain depth, allows you to fight local fat deposits, various forms of lipodystrophy, and improves the quality and tone of the skin. Procedures take an average of 30–40 minutes. The course consists of 8–12 procedures.

Vacuum massage

A universal method of figure correction, which causes a powerful increase in blood circulation in the skin and subcutaneous fat and gives both a therapeutic and aesthetic effect. The method involves the use of devices that create negative pressure, the suction capacity of which ranges from 100 to 800 MBarr/mm2. The devices operate in three modes: constant vacuum, pulsating and hyperpulsating vacuum. During the procedure, the mode and strength of the vacuum changes, which allows you to work on different layers of the skin, right down to the muscle layer.

The pulsating vacuum affects tensor receptors (stretch receptors), which promotes dilation of blood vessels and myogenic relaxation. This effect is aimed at strengthening the vascular wall and eliminating congestion.

The “suction” effect of a constant vacuum and the mechanical effect of the manipulator enhances the flow of arterial blood and activates the process of eliminating fat from areas of cellulite localization. It also has a powerful defibrosing effect, stimulating the skin cells. The hypervascularization effect saturates tissues with oxygen and enhances metabolism in adipose tissue. As a result of treatment, the silhouette is modeled and volumes are reduced.

The hyperpulsating mode with a frequency of 3–5 Hz is intended for atonic and sagging skin and has a stimulating effect on the muscle fibers and dermal layers of the skin. Due to this, the production of fibrous substances - collagen and elastin is stimulated, the firmness and elasticity of the skin increases, and the skin texture improves.
The technique necessarily includes stimulation of the lymph nodes, giving a decongestant and lymphatic drainage effect. They are used for the prevention and treatment of congestion and initial forms of varicose veins of the lower extremities.
Vacuum massage affects all pathogenetic factors in the development of cellulite (impaired venous and lymphatic drainage, fibrosis, impaired arterial circulation and lipid metabolism) and allows you to effectively combat this problem. The course consists of 10–15 procedures performed at intervals of 2–3 days.

Pressotherapy

A method using controlled pressure on certain areas of the body, enhancing the reabsorption of fluid from tissues and activating the work of the venous and lymphatic systems.

For pressotherapy, a special suit is used, consisting of several pneumatic chambers, and a device that pumps air into them with a pressure of up to 140 mm Hg. Art. Pressure in the chambers is created at a set intensity and in a certain sequence. Modern devices are equipped with a system for measuring blood pressure, which allows you to set optimal parameters for the effect: if the pressure is elevated, the device will stop performing the procedure, thus protecting the specialist from rash actions.

Pressotherapy accelerates the removal of decay products, toxic substances, and excess fluid from tissues and thereby eliminates stagnation, normalizes the circulation of lymph and intercellular fluid, and activates metabolic processes in tissues. Gives a powerful decongestant, lymphatic drainage, detoxification and diuretic effect. In aesthetic medicine it is used to reduce body volume, to combat cellulite and obesity, to prevent varicose veins, and to eliminate edema caused by lymphatic and venous stagnation. The procedure is very comfortable and takes 20–40 minutes. The course consists of 10–15 procedures performed at intervals of 1–3 days.

Electrical stimulation

The method is based on the use of pulsed currents for the regenerative treatment of tissues, organs and systems, especially nerves and muscles that have lost their normal function. For this purpose, several types of currents are used, having certain characteristics and affecting different tissues and systems. In some cases, the currents affect the nervous system, in others - on tissue structures, changing the potential of cell membranes, or on muscle fibers, causing isotonic or isometric contractions.

Electrical stimulation, causing motor excitation and muscle contraction, simultaneously reflexively enhances the entire complex of metabolic and trophic processes aimed at providing energy to working muscles, and also increases the activity of regulatory systems. Stimulation of the neurohumoral system ensures the release of biologically active substances in tissues, namely catecholamines, histamine, acetylcholine, which promote lipolysis of triglycerides in adipose tissue, enhance microcirculation and increase the permeability of the vascular wall. Activation of blood circulation improves tissue trophism, removes metabolic products and eliminates congestion.

To obtain a faster result, you can combine thermal heating and myostimulation: an increase in temperature in tissues by 3–4 ° C increases metabolic processes by 25–30%, plus there is an active contraction of muscles, which consume a large amount of energy coming from glucose in the blood . After 30 minutes, adipose tissue becomes the energy supplier. This is a universal method that is suitable for both men and women, both with normal body weight and with large volumes, and is also suitable for the complex treatment of obesity.

Electrical stimulation is effectively used to correct the figure, treat cellulite, increase muscle mass, strengthen and train muscles, and restore microcirculation. Procedures are carried out 3 times a week, the course is 15–20 sessions. In the future, maintenance procedures are required 1–2 times a week.

Cryolipolysis

A method of combating local fat deposits, based on selective and controlled cooling of adipose tissue followed by the launch of programmed death of adipocytes.

The method is based on prolonged hypoxia and a decrease in the temperature of subcutaneous fat tissue to +20 ° C, which subsequently leads to the natural death of fat cells - apoptosis. This physiological process lasts for 50–70 days. This unique technology completely eliminates cold damage to the skin, nerves, blood vessels and internal organs, since the freezing point of triglycerides is higher than the freezing point of other biological fluids and substances.

Cryolipolysis machines use two types of applicators: vacuum and vibration. When using vacuum applicators, a prerequisite is the formation of a sufficient volume of skin-fat fold. The procedure can be carried out simultaneously on two zones. Depending on the thickness of the subcutaneous fat and the patient’s wishes, 1 to 3 procedures are required, once every 2 months.

Vibrating applicators have a flat cooling surface, onto which low-frequency ultrasound is applied at the same time. The limit on the thickness of the skin-fat fold is 2 cm. Up to four zones can be treated at the same time. The course includes 4–6 procedures, once every 3 weeks. The result is a reduction in the number of fat cells in the treatment area by 10–20% in one procedure. The effect appears within 1–2 months.

Conclusion

Each of the listed methods can be used as an independent procedure and gives good results with regular use.

In order to get a faster and more pronounced result, you must adhere to the following rules:

  • the patient himself must strive for his “cherished dream”: in addition to the procedures, he should exercise and adhere to food restrictions;
  • the correct purpose and application of techniques is important;
  • a combination of two, maximum three methods increases productivity by an average of 20–30%;
  • the condition for a successful combination of procedures is a certain sequence and complementarity;
  • home care is mandatory.
